Exploring Tech at SSIPMT

I am a student of BTech in Computer Science and Engineering department at Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Professional Management and Technology, Raipur. I have a deep passion for Technology and Computers. My journey into Technology began back when I was in Class 11. I developed an interest in programming and problem-solving. Currently, I am focused on Coding, Cloud Computing, and Web Development as a Software Developer. I also participated in hackathons, tech meetups, and enthusiastic extracurricular activities throughout my campus career.

Additionally, I am a part of Google Cloud Study Jam organised by GDSC Raipur. There, I accrued more than 15 Google Cloud Badges and finished over 30 labs to decorate my knowledge of Cloud Technologies. My interest in Technology extended in addition and I knew that I wanted to pursue this field as a profession. SSIPMT Raipur seems like a great match for me because it combines a totally welcoming community with a path that is continually on the pulse with what the industry desires. I got all the possibilities to get hands-on experience that is essential for a tech field like Computer Science. I developed an interest in programming and problem-solving.

Journey to Computer Science

For instance, I chose Computer Science as a subject in Class 10. I was informed by some of the teachers that I should take Hindi or Physical Education during my free period, as taking those subjects would help improve my grades more easily. However, I started to take keen interest in Computers. So instead of choosing the easy way out, I followed my passion.
This choice formed my destiny targets and laid the idea for my passion towards coding.

Q:   How can I prepare for JEE Mains in 2 months along with board exam preparation?
A:
After making the list, it will also become apparent that the syllabus for JEE and board exams is more or less similar. The chapters covered in board exam are theoretical in nature, while those of JEE are concept-based. 1. Confront challenges: Studying the vast syllabus of both the exams can be really challenging. The solution to this problem lies in confronting the challenge by making weekly plans and assessing performance regularly. This way, students will know where they stand for each exam and can focus on improving their preparation accordingly. 2. Studying NCERT books: Studying NCERT books thoroughly is enough for holistic preparation of both JEE and board exams. For additional help, students can also study from one or two reference books of renowned authors. 3. Sectional tests: In order to develop a strong foundation of concepts and theories, students can take up sectional tests. It will assist them in managing the available time judiciously and recognizing areas they are lacking in. Once they are done with the sectional tests, they can opt for mock tests to further enhance their preparation. 4. For Mathematics paper, due weightage is given for writing formulae clearly and correctly. Hence, it is of prime importance to be well-versed with the theorems and formulae. 5. Physics is a purely concept-based subject that needs to be understood and not to be mugged up. Students should have a clear understanding of fundamentals. Mechanics and electrodynamics are main parts of physics.
Q:   How should I prepare for JEE Mains and Advanced together?
A:
Students can prepare for both Mains and Advanced together but it is not a wise idea to prepare together as both exams have different syllabus, exam pattern and difficulty level. The difficulty level of JEE Advanced exam is much higher than JEE Mains. If preparing together for both the exams, make a list of topics that are asked in JEE Main as well as Advanced. Solve questions from these topics from NCERT as well as additional books. For JEE Mains, students can stick to NCERT but for JEE Advanced students need to take help from books like HC Verma.
Q:   What is the difficulty level of JEE exam? What is it all about?
A:

The difficulty level of JEE Main exam is a little high than the class 12 board exams. Students who are studying in class 12 can score good marks in JEE Main by studying a little extra for the JEE. Students who have studied NCERT textbooks of Physics Chemistry and Mathematics thoroughly can get good marks. The joint Entrance Examination, popularly known as JEE Main is for admission into NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs for B.Tech and architecture courses in India.

With that passion in mind, I chose to pursue my undergraduate degree from SSIPMT Raipur as it is a renowned technical institute with well-established enterprise connections. Admission at my college is based on the JEE Main exam, but the initial seats are offered based on the PET exam (Pre-Engineering Test). I scored decent in the PET exam and after the counselling, I secured a seat at SSIPMT. Therefore, the admission process at my college is not very competitive.

College life at SSIPMT has been transformative

I was given an opportunity to participate in the Project Development Competition organised by AICTE. I secured second position in this competition. Our college is the first to start an IDEA LAB, and with this, my innovative ideas were developed which brought a valued insight into venture development and teamwork. Several clubs, events, competitions, and different projects have shaped me into who I am today, professionally.

Being an internship trainee at Code Quotient helped me sharpen my Javascript and Node.js. Successfully completing an internship enabled me to apply all the knowledge that I have attained to real-world activities. I got a chance to attend and volunteer the IEEE International Conference on Artificial Intelligence for Innovations in Healthcare Industries (ICAIIHI) 2023 held at SSIPMT. This enabled to learn from industry experts, connecting with fellow enthusiastic professionals who share my passion for the promotion of innovative change within the healthcare sector through AI.

Q:   What is the qualifying score in JEE Main?
A:
There is no minimum qualifying marks in JEE Main. Exam. However, any candidate who wish to appear in JEE Advanced need to obtain the minimum cutoff marks in JEE Main. Candidates gets all India rank in JEE Main on the basis of the score they get in the exam. Admission to the institutes like NITs, IIITs and GFTIs is given on the basis of all India rank of candidates. Candidates who wish to apply for JEE Advanced need to get the minimum JEE Main qualifying cutoff marks only after which they can apply for admission to IITs.
Q:   What is the difficulty level of JEE Main?
A:

JEE Main difficulty level is similar to class 12 board exams. Syllabus of JEE Main is similar to class 11 and 12 syllabus. The questions asked in exam are tricky and need an in-depth understanding of subjects. They need to have conceptual understanding of every topic to score well in exam. Those who study NCERT can get a decent score in JEE Mains.

Q:   Which book should I refer to prepare for JEE Main exam?
A:
It is advised that students begin their JEE Main preparation with NCERT books. NCERT class 11 and 12 books for Physics Chemistry and Mathematics are the best to understand basic concepts and solve numerical problems. Along with NCERTs, students can refer to additional books like H. C. Verma and Irodov for Physics. In Mathematics, students can take help from Arihant books. For Chemistry R C Mukherjee, O P Tandon and P Bahadur are best.

A Dynamic Journey at SSIPMT

My days at college are quite a mix of stimulating classes, project work, and extra-curricular activities. I really loved attending the coding and machine learning classes. The days outside the class are spent in participating in the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and NSS Cell. This always widens my horizon and gives me possibilities for networking. In NSS Cell, I was given opportunities to take part in several social activities consisting of World AIDS Day, Voting Awareness Campaign, Traffic Awareness Session, and National Unity Day, and so on.

Also, I was given the opportunity to initiate the startup club, which specialises in innovation, team development, and industrial know-how. It offered me a possibility to attend large occasions like Bharat Pitchathon 3.0 Chhattisgarh Edition and also manage events like organising super successful Ideathon events. This Bharat Pitchathon 3.0 occasion was a confluence of the most impactful gamers in the startup surroundings and featured the Head Start Network Foundation, Vatsal Kanakiya from 100X.VC, Xelpmoc Design & Tech Ltd, Indian Angel Network, VNR Seeds Private Limited, Swati Singhania, and Arvind Agrawal. It was at SSIPMT Raipur that these aspirations took off, molding me not just educationally but allowing my growth to flourish on every step.
