NIT, Jalandhar

It all started when I was in class 8. At that time my only was just to get good marks in class. Till that time I had no idea about IITs and NITs. I was a quiet and introvert child in class and was only concerned about my studies and my routine life at that time. One day my Maths teacher who was also our class teacher was very happy and joyful. When someone asked the reason of his happiness, he revealed that his nephew got selected in IIT Kanpur and that is why he was so happy at that day. That was the first time when I heard anything related to IITs and NITs. After that day I started my research about how to get admission in IITs and NITs. By the time I reached 10th class, I was very much familiar with the system through which I could get admission in IITs but the information was not enough. I passed my high school with 10 CGPA which was also a very big achievement for me and my family was very happy with the result. However, the journey to IIT was still long.

Class 11 changed everything. I realised that class 11 was way too difficult than class 10 and that path to IIT was not going to be easy. In class 11 I got only 87% marks. I was also very weak in chemistry but I was very much devoted towards my studies and kept trying to improve in chemistry. At that time, many of my friends were taking coaching classes, I was also interested in taking coaching but because of the fear of spoiling class 12 result, I didn’t take it. In class 12, I secured 90.4% marks but I was very upset with my marks because I was hoping to get more marks. My family was also not satisfied with this result but my family never showed their disappointment to me and encouraged me to do well in JEE Mains exam. I worked hard for one year to prepare for JEE.  After one year I was ready for the JEE Mains exam.

My journey to NIT, Jalandhar

The exam was quite hard but somehow I managed to score more than 190 marks in JEE Main and I was very much sure that I will get a good NIT with a satisfactory branch and now my whole concentration was towards JEE Advanced exam through which we get admission into IITs.  The day of JEE Advanced arrived soon but that exam was so tough that by the half time I got to know that I’ll have to settle for NIT only. I didn’t score well in Advanced but somehow I got ranking in JEE Advanced but that was of no use because. After that day I shifted my whole focus towards NITs and its counselling system.

I filled my preferences in choice filling column and I got NIT Jalandhar in first round and my family was very happy because they wanted an NIT near our home town Meerut and after NIT Delhi, Jalandhar campus was the closest to Meerut. My dream to study in an NIT became true and I was very excited to start this new innings of my life in NIT Jalandhar.

From that day to today I have never looked back and I always tried to look forward for a bright future. I also made friends out there and we also had a lot of fun in our institute life. Two years have passed since I took admission in institute and now I am satisfied with my decisions that I took earlier and I will never let myself down in future.
