I appeared for JEE Mains. After the JEE results, I came to know that I cannot get into any IIT. So during the counselling, I applied only for NITs, IIITs and for several other universities. Finally, I found that SASTRA is the right place for me.
After my intermediate, I searched for many universities and colleges regarding B.Tech. I referred to many websites like Shiksha and enquired seniors and faculty regarding the ranking, placements, accommodation, infrastructure of different colleges. I appeared for JEE Main. After the JEE results, I came to know that I cannot get into any IIT. So during the counselling, I applied only for NITs, IIITs and for several other universities. Finally, I found that SASTRA is the right place for me. SASTRA has good placement, infrastructure and its NIRF ranking (37th) is much better than many IITS and NITS. The college does not provide any paid seats, unlike other universities and this made a good impression on me. So I choose the EEE course at SASTRA. There are many experienced faculty in the department and also the college has good relations with the foreign universities for higher studies which is beneficial for the students. Recently it got IET recognition also.
Initially, I didn’t know about any competitive exams like JEE, EAMCET etc. After my intermediate, I came to know that these exams are for entrance to various famous universities and colleges. So, I started studying hard. I prepared short notes for subjects like Chemistry and prepared a formula note for Mathematics and after every lecture, I used to revise the whole topic again so that I could remember it well. I stopped using my mobile phone usage. I studied at Tirumala junior college which is very strict regarding education and discipline. The faculty has years of teaching experience that helped students a lot to achieve their goals with ease. The syllabus was completed 2 months before the final exam and the coaching for JEE started with daily mock tests being conducted through offline and online mode. I applied for universities like SASTRA, VIT, Amrita but I chose SASTRA because its placement and the fee are far better when compared to others. Also, there is no separate entrance test for SASTRA, unlike VIT and Amrita. SASTRA's admission entirely depends on the JEE marks or the intermediate grade. So, it is quite easy to get admission into the college.
In the beginning, I felt very nervous in college because of the atmosphere and also the language barrier disturbed me a lot but my seniors and the friendly faculty gave me a lot of confidence. After college, I spend most of my time on the ground or else in the hostel room with friends. The hostel life is very fascinating. I usually attend most of the seminars related to my course. I am an active member of NSS. I participate in camps and many workshops related to it. The fests conducted are very good in terms of the performances and setup. The fests are conducted on a large scale and so anyone can come and participate in the fests. There are many sports events conducted every year for the students to participate. If given a chance I would like to create a club for electrical engineering students to improve their knowledge about the core subject and also the technological advancements happening in the world.
I love simulation and machines. I want to research on machines and their working. I am much more confident now and I have improved my English a lot. My college has completely changed me as a person.
