Studying in the last month was not that hard but preparing sufficiently was important. My last month preparations included all the PCM chapters and previous years’ question papers revised thoroughly.

Relevant Study Material (Books/Notes)

BITSAT is quite simpler than the JEE exams, yet, with the lack of dedication and handwork, it will not be possible to crack the exam. Clearing BITSAT just requires the correct study material with proper facilitation of notes. Accurate sources such as NCERT (what I prefer the most) may get you the best results. This also includes the revision of previous years’ question papers. For me, the BITSAT exam paper was a balance of easy, medium and hard level questions. Further, I was able to crack the BITSAT paper by following proper methods while paying attention in the last 1 month.

Examination Structure

The BITSAT exam paper is framed with specific concepts from NCERT and thus is easy than the JEE exams. For me, studying in the last month was not that hard but preparing sufficiently was important. My last month preparations included all the PCM chapters and previous years’ question papers revised thoroughly. Further, the exam is conducted as a computer-based test in 3 hours of duration. The exam includes four parts: Physics, Chemistry, English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning and Mathematics/Biology (for B.Pharma). The exam thus allots 3 marks for every correct answer, deducts 1 mark for every incorrect answer and provides no marks for unattempted questions.

Focus points (Highest Scoring topics /Topic-wise weightage)

According to my experience, important topics are:

  1. Physics: Electrostatics, Electromagnetism, Mechanics - Newton’s Laws, Rotational Dynamics, Work and Energy and Thermodynamics.
  2. Mathematics: Well, mathematics comes along with 50% of the questions framed from Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Complex Numbers and Coordinate Geometry.
  3. Chemistry: This subject mostly includes Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry: Chemical Equilibrium, Ionic Equilibrium, and Gas Laws to focus on.

These few key areas helped me get through the BITSAT exam paper quite well with the accurate last month’s preparation.

Study Plan and Self-evaluation (Mock papers/Sample papers)

Also, like I mentioned earlier, solving the previous years’ question papers could only get me through the exam. Knowing the pattern of questions is the beginning of your thorough preparation. Thus, while following my study plan, I also focused on self-evaluation by preparing with mock papers and sample papers to know the exam better and be prepared with all the concepts. Thus, BITSAT can fetch you marks easily with proper planning and perfection in concepts.
