IES Exam Centres 2025: City-wise Test Centres for Prelims & Mains Exam

The Union Public Service Commission allots the IES exam centre based on the first apply first serve basis. The candidates are suggested to apply for the IES exam as soon as possible to get the exam centre of their choice. The Union Public Service Commission conducts the IES exam 2025 in offline mode. The candidates will be required to carry the IES 2025 admit card to the exam centre. The candidates are suggested to follow the exam day instructions mentioned in the UPSC e-admit card.

The IES exam centre list is notified in the IES notification every year. The number of UPSC exam centres remains the same for all the large exams of UPSC. In IES the number of IES prelims exam centres are the standard ones but the list seems different for the IES main exam.

The IES main exam is the second stage of the IES exam as mentioned in the IES exam pattern. The number of candidates in the IES main exam is very fewer and hence the number of IES main exam centre is less.

Yes the examination centre lis was released for the UPSC ESE 2026 in the official notification. Therefore, candidates can go through the official notification for the list of exam centres. It is also provided on our Shiksha page.

No. A candidate can not change the examination centre. There is no such provision. Therefore, it is recommended to choose carefully the exam centre. Also, check the official notification for the same.

Yes. In the UPSC IES prelims exam, there is a negative marking of 1/3 for each incorrect answer.
