SSC JHT Paper 1 is a Computer Based Test having multiple-choice questions. It consists of two sections- General English and General Hindi. In Paper-I questions will be designed to test the candidates understanding of the languages and literature, correct use of words, phrases and idioms and ability to write the languages correctly and precisely. The questions will be of degree level. Each section has 100 questions and the total time duration is 2 hours. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
