SSC JHT Notification 2025 OUT: Exam Date & Selection Process

The educational qualification prescribed for SSC JHT exam is given below:

• Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level OR
• Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination OR
• Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of an examination OR
• Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level OR 
• Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level and
• Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or 2 years’ experience as a translator from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.

The steps included under SSC JHT registration are given below:

• For one-time registration, candidates need to click on ‘Register Now’ link on SSC website
• During the registration process, candidates need to enter: Basic Details, Additional Details and Contact Details and upload the scanned images of photograph, signature and LTI
• After submitting the basic details, candidates are required to confirm their mobile number and email ID
• On confirmation of details, the registration number and password will be provided to candidates
• Candidates need to read the declaration and click ‘I Agree’ button

The documents required to fill SSC JHT application form are given below:

• Mobile number (to be verified through OTP)
• Email ID (to be verified through OTP)
• Aadhaar Number or Aadhaar Enrollment Number
• Information about the Board, Roll Number, and Year of Passing of Class 10
• Scanned photograph 
• Scanned signature 
• If Aadhaar Card is not provided, candidates need to upload Left-hand Thumb Impression (LTI)
• Disability Certificate (If any)

SSC JHT Paper 2 carried descriptive questions. This paper consists of translation and essay writing questions. In translation, candidates will be asked to translate one Hindi passage to English and one English passage to Hindi language. In essay writing, candidates have to write one essay in Hindi and one in English. SSC JHT Paper 1 is a Computer Based Test having multiple-choice questions. It consists of two sections- General English and General Hindi. In Paper-I questions will be designed to test the candidates understanding of the languages and literature, correct use of words, phrases and idioms and ability to write the languages correctly and precisely. The questions will be of degree level. Each section has 100 questions and the total time duration is 2 hours. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
