UPSC notifies the exam centres (cities) in the official notification. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) keeps adding the examination centres for certain exam. Rest of the exams have more or less same number of exam centres. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has a few exam centres across the nation. The names of the UPSC exam centres are notified in the exam notification itself. The UPSC exam centre numbers differ from exam to exam. As per the latest census, the number of districts in India is six hundred and forty. As per the latest government data, the number of districts is increased to above seven hundred but the number of UPSC exam centres is limited in number and the candidates need to travel from their hometown to the place of the exam. Sometimes, the exam district is far away and the candidates need to reach the exam centre early in the morning.
There are UPSC exams that are conducted for more than one day such as IAS exam, IFoS exam, in that case, the candidates need to stay at the exam place because the main exam centres are further less.
The UPSC is required to increase the number of exam districts in the present situation, but as per the latest notifications, the number of UPSC exam centres are the same.
