What is the admission process for the Oberoi STEP Exam?

The admission process at Oberoi STEP is done in three steps. There are: 1. The application process begins around February, when eligible candidates have to register for the course. 2. The application is then evaluated, and candidates are invited for interviews. 3. The candidates are divided into small groups of 15 to 20 people for the first round of interview, 4. In the second round, a selected candidate will be required to appear for a one-on-one interview in front of a panel. 5. They are also required to pass a questioner test to get shortlisted for the next round. 6. In the final round, there are some activities and a questionnaire that must be completed before appearing for the final interview. 7. Selected candidates are given an offer letter to participate in the STEP programme of the Oberoi Group.

When will the Oberoi STEP 2026 be conducted?

The Oberoi STEP 2026 is expected to be held in the middle of the month of April next year. The registration process is expected to begin soon and will continue until April. The official website states that the selection process might start in April and continue until May. In June, results will be announced, and from the first week of July, the Sytematic Training and Education programme will start for the 2026 batch.

Minimum requirements: The candidate should be above 18 years and below 20 years of age, as on 15th August of the year of the commencement of the programme. The candidate should have attained a clear pass in class XII as on 1st July of the year of the commencement of the programme, from a board recognised by the Indira Gandhi National Open University, India. For hotel operations programme (Front Office / Food and Beverage Service focus) and kitchen operations programme. The candidate should have obtained 61% marks or above, in English in class X. The equivalent in CBSE is a B2 Grade or a 7 Grade Point. For Hotel Operations Programme (Housekeeping focus) The candidate should have obtained 51% marks or above, in English in class X. The equivalent in CBSE is a C1 Grade or a 6 Grade Point. Here, the evaluator checks the candidates grooming, poise and spoken English. Round 2: Short-listed candidates from Round 1 are taken to another round of activities on the same day including a one-on-one meeting with a panel comprising of faculty. Here, the evaluator gets to know them better and checks their aptitude for hospitality. Round 3: Short-listed candidates from Round 2 will be invited for another round of activities and questionnaires including a final interview with a panel.
