Steps to check the NIMCET 2026 result

The NIMCET results 2026 will be announced online. The NIMCET results can be accessed by candidates using the steps given below.

  • Go to the official portal nimcet.admissions.nic.in
  • Find the result option and click it.
  • Enter your User ID and password, then click on 'Sign In'. Your result will be displayed.
  • Download and save it for future reference.

You will be eligible for NIMCET Counselling only after you clear the NIMCET exam.

Q:   What if I do not crack the NIMCET?
A: 

No need to get disheartened. If by chance you couldn't crack the NIMCET, you can apply for other MCA programs from other private colleges, or take up other MCA entrance exams, or even prepare well to retake the NIMCET the next year. Good thing is that there is no limit on the number of attempts for NIMCET. Additionally, there is no age limit as well.

NIMCET 2026 Counselling

NIMCET counselling will be an online process. Please check the process for NIMCET counselling for reference.

  • Register yourself for the NIMCET counselling process by filling your personal details, as prompted.
  • Fill in your choice of colleges in the order of preference. Candidates are advised to select as many choices as possible for a higher chance of allotment into the preferred colleges.

Q:   Is it mandatory to carry a provisional certificate during NIMCET counselling?
A: 

You must verify all your documents during NIMCET counselling. You must also bring the original documents at the time of joining. The documents required for NIMCET Counselling are listed below:

  • NIMCET Admit Card
  • NIMCET Rank Card
  • Date of Birth Proof (10th marksheet)
  • 10th & 12th marksheets and passing certificates
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)

NIMCET 2026 Result - Qualifying Criteria

Candidates will only be declared qualified if they obtain the minimum qualifying marks and will be eligible to participate in the NIMCET 2026 counselling and seat allotment process. NIMCET ranks will be allotted on the basis of the following criteria:
  • The marks secured will be multiplied by a factor of -
    • Mathematics - 3
    • Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning - 1.5
    • Computer Awareness - 2
    • English - 1
  • The maximum weighted marks are 1000. The ranking will be based on the total weighted marks obtained.
  • Ties, if any, will be resolved based on weighted marks in Mathematics, followed by Logical Reasoning, and then Computer Awareness.
  • If the tie is not resolved by the above criteria, it will be determined by age, favouring the older candidate.

Q:   Will the institute-wise cut-off ranks be announced for NIMCET?
A: 

No, NIMCET does not announce a single, common institute-wise cut-off rank list. It releases a common NIMCET cutoff list. However, NITs can determine their opening and closing ranks for their MCA programs, based on the overall rank, seat availability and applicant pool. Candidates are advised to check the official websites of the individual NITs and IIITs after the final NIMCET results to stay updated on any such event.

Q:   How do they send the NIMCET 2025 mark sheet, through email or by post?
A: 

For NIMCET, you will not receive your mark sheet by post. You will be informed about your result through SMS or email, on your registered mobile number and email ID. Please keep checking the website as well to stay updated of any news about NIMCET results.

Q:   What is the validity of the NIMCET result?

The result of NIMCET will be valid for one year. Candidates are advised to preserve the NIMCET result throughout the counselling, seat allotment, and final admission procedures.

A: 

Yes, the NIMCET result will be normalized accordingly for the different question papers in order to ensure that there all the candidates are weighed on common parameters.

Q:   I have a backlog in my Board/college final year exam. Will my NIMCET score still be valid?
A: 

Yes. A candidate's NIMCET score will be valid, but the provisional candidature may be cancelled by the institute. For admissions, the candidates are required to fulfil  the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the information brochure of NIMCET. Candidates are also advised to contact the authorities regarding their situation and know their admission status and what their next steps should be.

Q:   When will NIMCET 2025 counselling start?

The NIMCET 2025 counselling process is now over.

  • Round 1 was announced on July 7, 2025
  • Round 2 was announced on July 12, 2025

Q:   I am not satisfied with my NIMCET result and want to get it reviewed. Can I do it?
A: 

If you are not satisfied with your NIMCET result, you have the option to object to the provisional answer key. Please note that the ability to review the score is limited, and you can't get a direct score re-evaluated. However, you can contest discrepancies in the answer key against a fee. You would also need to furnish the proof and submit your challenge online during a specific window. If you miss the answer key challenge period, you cannot request a review of the score. After that phase is over, you can't request for the score review.

No. You cannot manually convert CGPA to percentage or vice-versa to qualify. If your university uses a 10-point scale, a 6.5 CGPA is the minimum requirement for General/OBC candidates.

Here is how you can determine if your NIMCET score is good -

Score Possible Rank What This Means 
360+Top 100Excellent: You can likely pick any top NIT you want, like the popular ones in Trichy or Warangal.
300 - 359101 - 500Very Good: You have a high chance of getting into a strong NIT.
240 - 299501 - 1500Good Goal: You can likely secure a spot in a mid-tier NIT.
Below 120Low ChancesDifficult: Getting a seat at any NIT is very unlikely with this score.

The NIMCET application edit window usually opens 2-3 days after the last day of application. Historically, it opens for 2 days within which applicants can make any edits in their application if required. Please note that no requests in this regard shall be entertained thereafter.
