Mystory@Honey Gupta: Curriculum should focus more on practical than theoretical knowledge

1 min readUpdated on May 16, 2017 13:15 IST

I selected my graduation subjects on the basis of my interest. I had Commerce as my stream in Higher Secondary School, hence I opted for BCom. After completing my graduation I wanted to choose some Management course and to pursue my dream course, I secured admission in Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.

I selected my college on the basis of its rating and location comfort. To secure a seat in the University, I had to appear for an entrance exam. I cleared the exam and got enrolled in this college. I opted for MBA Finance. The course curriculum focuses more on theories than practical. But, I believe this is not the problem of only my colleges, but of most of the colleges of India.

Make sure you study, but at the same time, try to enjoy life too because once you step into the professional life, you will miss the old days.

The college facilities are good but not outstanding. Numerous fairs are organised by the students of the college. I am happy with my college life and I aim at building new and meaningful connections. If given a chance, I want to pursue a course in Computers. My advice to the younger generation would be to not become a bookworm. Make sure you study, but at the same time, try to enjoy life too because once you step into the professional life, you will miss the old days.
