There are many student organizations in LPU and one can join them to explore more where students come to know about managing, convincing, promoting, and organizing people. They conduct mock GDs and mock interviews on the campus for building students’ confidence.

People who want to do a corporate job or want to learn management skills in corporate culture go for MBA. While choosing a college for MBA everyone should check for placements because ultimately everything is about placements. I am pursuing my MBA from Lovely Professional University and my experience here has been very amazing. I have a keen interest in the banking sector and that’s why I pursued MBA and chose LPU because of its diversity and culture. LPU provides communication skills classes for every domain to improve and also provides analytical skills as a course of all students so that they can learn and clear aptitude round easily. Also, LPU is providing soft skills classes to every student. They conduct case-study competitions, events and gatherings so that students join these types of events learn about new skills. There are many student organizations in LPU and one can join them to explore more where students come to know about managing, convincing, promoting, and organizing people. They conduct mock GDs and mock interviews on the campus for building students’ confidence.

Along with that, they provide opportunities for industrial visits and live projects. In live projects, the student works as a management trainee in any organization and learns about the culture and new concepts. I had done my live project from Big Bazaar, Jalandhar and had a great experience. They also arrange guest lectures for students to interact with personalities and learn from their experiences. Also, they provide opportunities to take part in many interuniversity events. They provide pre-placement classes to students so that they can perform better in drives and get campus placement.

In the placement drive there are three rounds:

  1. Aptitude Round: In the aptitude round, we have to attempt basic questions of Maths and reasoning. Basically, companies conduct this test to judge the analytical skills of a person.
  2. Group Discussion: In the group discussion round, they give a topic and we have to express our views on that. The interviewer checks the communication skills of the person means if in the group discussion one or two persons are speaking continuously and they are not giving any chance to other persons then it is counted as a negative point. And if there are two persons who are arguing badly then in that situation if you try to maintain the decorum by calming them then it’s a positive point.
  3. Personal Interview: Personal Interview is the most crucial one. Our five minutes conversation can help us in getting a job. For interviews, you need to be in proper formals and the important thing is that you should reach the location on time.

We need to be confident about what we are saying. Sometimes, the interviewer makes us feel comfortable by talking informally but we need to stick to our point and be disciplined.

In my interview for the live project, I was sitting straight in front of the interviewer and I was confident about my views on sales and marketing. They don’t want a confused mind so we should be clear about our thought and answers.

Tips for Freshers:

  1. One should be clear about his/her opinion and knowledgeable about what he/she is saying.
  2. The person should be punctual and a good listener.
  3. Always try to learn from everything and learn to grab every opportunity that comes to your way.

Few questions from my personal experience:

  1. Location-based question: If placed in Kerala and then asked to move to a new place, will you be able to adapt?
  2. Introduce yourself
  3. What do you do in your free time?
  4. What is your biggest achievement?
  5. Tell me something about you apart from your CV
  6. Tell us about your strengths and weakness
  7. What are the three biggest values you learned from your family?
  8. Tell me about your hometown
  9. What can be the reason of your rejection?
  10. Who is your role model?

Qualities that will get you hired at your campus placement:

Analytical skills, good listening, confidence, clarity of thoughts, communication skills, body gestures, openness, cooperation, ability to adapt, learning skills.
