No, KEA does not normalise the scores for Karnataka PGCET exam as the exam is conducted in a single shift. Score normalisatikon is required while evaluating performance of the candidate in competitive exams to equalise performance of candidates on a relative scale. Owing to multiple shifts, difficulty levels across different shifts of the exam typically varies.

Since Karnataka PGCET exam does not have multiple exam shifts for a single course, candidates will have a similar difficulty standard across the exam for a single programme.

Q:   What is the marking scheme of the Karnataka PGCET exam?

For every right answer, candidates will be awarded one mark in Karnataka PGCET exam while for the wrong answers, no marks will be deducted. Total marks of the Karnataka PGCET exam are 100. Candidates get 120 minutes to answer all the multiple-choice questions.

KEA releases Karnataka PGCET answer key in two phases. First KEA issues Karnataka PGCET provisional answer key. Karnataka PGCET revised answer key is released later. With the release of Karnataka PGCET provisional answer keys, candidates are allowed to raise objections. In case any answer from the Karnataka PGCET provisional answer key is changed, the same is informed via the revised answer key. KEA considers answers in Karnataka PGCET revised answert key to calculate scores.

  2. Subject line of the objection email should be in the following format: ‘PGCET-2026 - Objection - Subject Name, Version with attachment’
  3. Attach the relevant snapshot or textual part of the book justifying the claim in the objection email
  4. Send the objection email before the specified date

Objections filed by candidates without justification are considered invalid. All the challenges submitted are placed before an expert committee for review. After reviewing the challenges, Karnataka PGCET final answer key is released. The final answer key is released along with the Karnataka PGCET 2026 results.

Q:   When will the official Karnataka PGCET answer key release?

As per the official Karnataka PGCET brochure, the answer key is available within three days after the completion of the entrance test on the KEA website. Karnataka PGCET official answer keys are released on the official website for all courses, including MBA and MCA.

The candidates / parents / lecturers, are allowed to file their objections, if any, within three days in respect of any of the published answer key. Candidates are also required to submit all the supporting documents & justification for the objection filed. Objections filed by the candidates without justification shall not be considered. Objections received after the last date fixed shall not be considered. Objections received by the KEA will be placed before an Expert Committee, whose decision will be final in this regard.

There is no qualifying marks in PGCET.
