Karnataka PGCET 2026 exam pattern is released with the information bulletin. Karnataka PGCET test structure varies for all courses, including MBA, MCA, MTech and ME programmes. As per the Karnataka PGCET MBA paper pattern, total marks of the Karnataka PGCET 2026 exam are 100. Candidates get 120 minutes to answer all the multiple-choice questions with no negative marking. For the past few years, KEA is rumoured to conduct the Karnataka PGCET exam as a computer based test. Karnataka PGCET syllabus PDF mentions the exam will be held in online mode, whereas, the information brochure states that the Karnataka PGCET exam is held as a pen and paper based test.

As per the Karnataka PGCET 2026 exam pattern, the marking scheme followed in the test is as follows:

  • +1 mark for each correct response.
  • No negative marking for incorrect responses.
  • No negative marking for unattempted questions.

Karnataka PGCET MBA Exam Sections & Important Topics

Karnataka PGCET MBA exam has five sections. Find KEA PGCET section-wise important topics below:

  • Computer Awareness: Focus on computer basics, data representation, binary arithmetic, and operating systems
  • English Language: Focus on vocabulary building, specifically synonyms, antonyms, and idioms. Questions identifying the authors of famous literary works are also a consistent feature in this section.
  • Reasoning and General Intelligence: Candidates should practice number and letter series, solve missing-character puzzles, syllogisms, blood-relation logic, and seating arrangements.
  • General Knowledge: Priority should be given to recent government schemes, articles of the Indian Constitution, economic terminology, international agreements, and general science and technology.
  • Quantitative Analysis: Data Interpretation is a critical high-yield topic, as it frequently appears as a block of questions based on a single line graph, bar graph, or pie chart. Foundational arithmetic topics such as simple and compound interest, time and work, speed and distance, and geometry concepts (area and perimeter) are highly important.

NOTE: Questions in the Karnataka PGCET exam is not confined to the above topics. The important topics mentioned above are based on the past analysis for the Karnataka PGCET exam.
