Q: Can I register for MICAT-2 later if I am not appearing for MICAT-1?

Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahmedabad, conducts the MICAT exam in two phases. Candidates can apply for both the phases of the MICAT exam. Candidates are also allowed to apply for either of the exam phases. MICA shortlists candidates based on the best of two scores in the MICAT exam phases. Candidates who do not take both the phases are shortlisted based on their MICAT score. Candidates who did not apply for the first ohase of MICAT can also apply for MICAT-2. The registration process for both MICAT I and MICAT II remains the same. However, candidates who filled the form for MICAT I get a few details filled automatically while applying for MICAT II.

Q: What is the process to apply for MICAT exam?

MICAT application process includes online registration, filling up of MICAT application form (by providing certain details) uploading scanned photograph and signature, payment of MICAT application fee followed by printing the MICAT registration form. Candidates have to complete the MICAT registration online on its official website. No other mode is provided to apply for MICAT exam. Candidates aspiring to appear for both the exam phases of MICAT exam have to apply twice. Additionally, the application fee for the MICAT exam phases will be charged twice.

Q: Do I need to add CAT/XAT/GMAT scores to fill MICAT application form?

Candidates need to appear for any of the national level the exams, among CAT, XAT or GMAT to participate in the MICA PGDM selection process. Admissions to MICA PGDM is based on shortlists prepared considering the MICAT scores, national level exam scores, GE and PI scores. Candidates filling the MICAT application form have to enter the scores of national level exam. However, if they are yet to appear for the exams, they can add the exam scores later. MICA provides the facility to add exam scores at later stage of the registration process.

Q: Can I pay the MICAT registration fee in an offline mode?

No. All candidates have to pay the MICAT application fee in an online mode only. The gatway for MICAT form fee payment can be chosen while paymentg of the application fee. Candidates can use internet banking/credit card/debit card/UPI to pay the MICAT application fee. The authorities will not entertain any requests for offline fee payment. If the candidates face any problems paying the application fee, they must contact the authorities immediately. Failure to pay the application fee before the deadline will lead to the disqualification of the candidature from the MICAT examination process.

Q: When will MICAT II registration commence?

MICAT registration for second phase exam commences immediately after the first phase registration concludes. The deadline to apply for MICAT II, typically lies in the third week of January. Following the trends from the past session, MICAT II registration is scheduled to commence from November 23. Candidates will be able to apply for MICAT II until January 16. MICA will not entertain any requests to extend the registration deadline. Therefore, candidates must keep track of the MICAT exam dates and event timeline here.

Q: Can I re-submit the MICAT application form in case of errors while filling the form?

Candidates may come across situations when they make mistakes while filling the application form. MICA does not allow duplicate form submission by the candidates. However, candidates may use a different mobile number and email ID to complete the MICAT registration with correct details. Facility foir application form correct is not provided during the MICAT application process. Candidates applying again with the same details may get their candidature rejected. Since there is no form correction facility, candidates must re check all the details before final submission of the MICAT application form.

Q: Do I need to pay MICAT application fee even if I paid the CAT registration fee?

Appearing for CAT/XAT/GMAT, is a prerequisite to appear for the MICAT exam. Therefore, candidates who applied and appeared for CAT, XAT or GMAT are also required to apply for MICAT and appear for the exam. Submission of the application form for MICAT requires the candidates to pay the registration fee. Scores in CAT/XAT/GMAT are considered during the selection process. Besides the score in the national level exams, MICAT scores also play a part while shortlisting candidates for admission. Therefore, appearing for MICAT or any national level exam is not an optional stage in the selection process.

Q: What is the application fee for MICAT exam?

Candidates filling the application form for MICAT exam have to pay INR 2,100 as the application fee. MICAT registration fee or application fee remains the same for all the candidates, irrespective of their category. Candidates appearing for both MICAT I and MICAT II hjave to pay the application fee for both the exam phases separately. No concession in the MICAT application fee is given to the candidates applying for both exam phases. The fee mentioned here may or may not change in the upcoming exam sessions. Yes. Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, has commenced the MICAT registration in September. Candidates aspiring for MICA PGP admission can apply for MICAT-I exam until November 20. However, the registration window for MICAT II is being facilitated from November 23 to January 17, as per the extended deadline. Candidates can apply for either or both of the MICAT exam phases. MICAT 2024 will aid the PGDM and PGDM-C admissions in MICA for 2024-26 admission batch.

How to Apply for MICAT Exam 2026?

To apply for MICAT exam, candidates need to follow the steps mentioned below.

Visit the official website of MICA, Ahmedabad and click on apply now
Fill in the details and read the terms and conditions carefully

Click on the “I Agree” button to accept the Terms and Conditions
Once done, click on the “Submit” button. MICA ID and password will be sent in registered Email and SMS
A new window opens up once the ‘Submit’ button is pressed. Click on the Go to Application Form on the Top Right part of the page to proceed further
Enter personal details including parents' details such as date of birth, gender, nationality, marital status, etc.

Upload your photograph and signature. The files should be in JPEG or GIF format and the file size should not exceed 80 KB

Enter academic and professional experience details

Select the exam among CAT, XAT, and GMAT and enter the scores if applicable

Select programmes and choose the exam centre and GE & PI centre cities from the drop-down menu

Complete with the payment of the requisite registration/application fee.

While filling the MICAT II application form, the candidates must keep the following in mind:

The candidate must ensure that the information furnished is correct and can be validated later
Do not leave any field marked as mandatory empty. A candidate might face rejection against Incomplete forms
Upload a scanned copy of a recent passport-sized photo and signature with the form (in the prescribed format)
Before submitting the form, must check the information mentioned twice. Once submitted, the form cannot be edited
Update your score options in the online application form which you would like to submit (i.e. CAT, XAT & GMAT).
