FMGE 2025 exam pattern is designed by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). Knowing the exam pattern of FMGE 2025 helps candidates prepare for the examination better. FMGE exam pattern defines various parameters such as the exam mode, duration, number of questions that will be asked in the paper, etc. The NBE will release the FMGE 2025 Demo test for the June session, which will enable candidates to familiarise themselves with the FMGE exam pattern. 

Note: This year authorities mentioned one major change the question paper for each part of FMGE will be divided into multiple time-bound sections. For example, if there are 3 time-bound sections* (Section A, B & C) in each part of the question paper, each section will have 50 questions and 50 minutes for the section.

Applicants won't be able to proceed to the next section till completion of the previous section. Students will not be able to review the questions/ modify the responses of a section after the completion of the allotted time of that section.

Q:   Has the FMGE exam pattern changed?
A: 

No official announcement was made regarding the changes/modifications in the FMGE exam pattern for the upcoming exam cycle. In case any changes will be there, it will be updated for the aspirants. Applicants are advised to prepare for the exam as per the previous exam pattern of FMGE. 

Q:   How many marks are required to qualify FMGE licensing exam?
A: 

The qualifying marks according to the FMGE exam pattern are 50% or more. Candidates need to score a minimum of 150 marks or more to qualify FMGE 2025 exam. FMGE exam will be conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). 

Q:   Is it necessary to attempt all the questions in FMGE ?
A: 

No, it is not mandatory to solve all the questions as per the FMGE exam pattern 2025. However, because there is no negative marking in the examination, candidates are advised to solve as many questions as possible. No marks will be deducted if candidates leave questions unattempted.

Q:   How many questions will be asked in FMGE exam?
A: 

NBE released the FMGE exam pattern along with the official information brochure. A total of 300 questions will be asked in the exam. The question paper will be divided into two parts, 150 questions each. The questions will be multiple choice. Candidates will get 2.5 hours to solve each part. The exam will be held in English language only. The exam pattern comprises details such as mode, medium, total questions asked and their type, marking scheme etc. 

Q:   How many questions will be asked in FMGE exam?
A: 

According to the official notification, a total of 300 questions are asked in the FMGE exam. Though students will have to solve 150-150 questions seperately. There will be a time interval between both these exams. The nature of questions which will be asked in the FMGE exam will be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). 

Q:   Is it necessary to pass individually in each section to qualify FMGE exam?
A: 

No. It is nowhere stated in the FMGE 2025 exam pattern guidelines that a candidates needs to qualify in both the sections to be eligible to clear the exam.  Both these papers are conducted for a total of 300 marks and students are advised to secure a total of 150 marks out of them.

Here is all you need to know about the FMGE 2025 exam: 

  • The examination will be conducted in an online mode
  • The medium of the examination will be English
  • Candidates will be evaluated based on 300 multiple-choice questions
  • All the questions in the FMGE question paper will have equal weightage
  • One mark would be awarded for every correct answer
  • No marks will be awarded/ deducted for incorrect answers
  • The examination will be conducted in two phases – Part A and Part B
  • The candidate will be given 2 hours and 30 minutes to attempt each section
  • According to the exam pattern of FMGE 2025, a candidate needs to score at least 50% marks in the examination to qualify it

Q:   Is there any sectional time limit in the FMGE exam?
A: 

As per the directive of NBE there is no sectional time limit to attempt different sections of the FMGE question paper. Candidates will get overall 5 hours to attempt 300 questions in the exam. Candidates can switch between the sections to attempt the questions. 

Q:   What will be the total marks for FMGE June 2025 session?
A: 

FMGE 2025 question paper will be of 300 marks. There will be 300 questions in the examination, each question will have a weightage of 1 mark. To attempt each section, 2 hour and 30 minutes will be allotted.  The question paper will be divided into two parts, comprising 150 questions each.

Q:   Can I appear for FMGE exam in Hindi language or any other regional language?
A: 

No, the FMGE exam is conducted only in English medium. A candidate cannot appear for the FMGE 2025 exam in any other regional language. Unlike other competitive exams, there is no other medium of language introduced on this entrance exam.

According to FMGE exam pattern 2025, the examination was conducted in two sessions. The question paper for both these sections comprised different subjects. Q:   How many questions are asked from Anatomy in FMGE exam?

Overall there will be 100 questions asked in the exam from Pre and Para Clinical Subject. Out of these 100 questions around 17 questions will be based on Anatomy section. Along with it, the same 17 questions will be asked from Physiology and Biochemistry sections as well. 

Students are advised to attempt all the questions which are asked in the exam as it does not have negative marking scheme.

There is no restriction on the number of attempts. Students can appear for FMGE exam as many time as they want and until they pass. This allows candidates to improve their preparation without any official attempt cap.
