The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences conducted the FMGE 2026 exam on June 28. The NBEMS released the FMGE 2026 exam dates separately on its official website. It is a qualifying exam only and the candidates need to score that much marks to get the FMGE qualified certificate from the NBEMS. This certificate will be required to apply for the MCI registration to get the license of practice. 

The FMGE 2026 follows the standard NBEMS syllabus, and while the official notice covers the basics like timelines and breakdowns, passing the exam takes more than just reading the manual. Get those previous year questions (PYQs) and mocks into your daily schedule as early as possible. At the end of the day, NBEMS runs the show, but your consistency with the question papers is what will get you through.

FMGE December 2026 Preparation Tips

The date for the FMGE December session exam is tentative for January 17, 2027. Some preparation tips to prepare for the FMGE exam are given below :

  • Students need to manage a schedule that allows for continuous study time. One must set deadlines to avoid any distractions and fatigue in the process. 
    Regular time breaks will increase the user's productivity. You should work on maintaining speed and accuracy during the exam.

Q:   Is FMGE exam difficult to crack?
A: 

FMGE exam is of moderate difficulty level as per the student reaction and expert exam analysis derived from top coaching institutes and the evaluators. A candidate need to focus on FMGE exam preparation around solving the multiple-choice questions. As there is no negative marking in the exam, this makes it easy for candidates to attempt the entire question paper. However, a minimum of 50% marks needs to be scored in order to receive the Pass Certificate from NBEMS

Q:   How many questions are asked from Anatomy in FMGE exam?
A: 

Overall there will be 100 questions asked in the exam from Pre and Para Clinical Subject. Out of these 100 questions around 17 questions will be based on Anatomy section. Along with it, the same 17 questions will be asked from Physiology and Biochemistry sections as well. 

Students are advised to attempt all the questions which are asked in the exam as it does not have negative marking scheme.
