The FMGE cutoff is released once the FMGE results are released. Once the FMGE cutoff is out, those who beat the cutoff list will be called for the counselling process. Students must score a minimum of 150 out of 300 to be able to beat the cutoff.

The FMGE exam has 300 MCQs worth 300 marks. Each correct answer gives 1 mark, and there is no negative marking. The exam is divided into two sections, Part A and Part B; each section is of 2 and a half hours. To pass, one must score 150 out of 300.

There is currently no limit on total number of attempts for FMGE. You can appear for as many sessions as needed. Very soon, National Exit Test (NExT) will replace FMGE exam. It may introduce new regulations regarding attempt limits once implemented. As of now, no limit for re-attempts.

Candidates must bring the following documents to the test center to be allowed entry. Digital copies on mobile phones are strictly not accepted.
- Printed Admit Card: A clear printout of FMGE 2025-26 admit card (black and white is acceptable) with a recent passport-sized photograph pasted in the design

FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) 2026 is a compulsory licensing test conducted by the NBEMS. It is for Indian/OCI citizens who obtained their medical degree (MBBS) from outside India. Passing this 300-mark screening test is mandatory to practice medicine in India.

There is no defined timeframe which a candidate need to prepare for the exam. The syllabus more or less remains the same and the topics are also covered in the syllabus which is taught at the MD level. FMGE screening test is sought after to seek the medical licensing to practice Doctoral profession in India. This mandates an aspirant to score minimum 50% marks to be able to pass the exam.
