Having a good academic profile for IIM admission is very critical. The top 6 IIMs lay a lot of emphasis on Class 10 and Class 12 score for selection of candidates for WAT-PI round. The academic profile is evaluated again at the time of preparation of final merit list. It has been seen in the past that some candidates despite having 99+ percentile, were not selected for PI round due to low score in Class 12.
The academic profile is assessed for academic as well as gender diversity. Which means a candidate who studied Arts in Class 12 may be selected for PI with lower marks than a candidate who studied Science in Class 12.
Candidates aiming for IIMs must know that while the importance of academic profile is very important for top IIMs, it is moderately important for rest of the IIMs. For, other top MBA colleges, overall profile matters more than academic score. So, if you do not have superlative scores in Class 10 and 12, build a good profile with work experience and extra curricular activities to increase your chances of selection.
CAT cutoffs are usually not announced with the CAT result. The CAT cutoffs are also not released to the public.
They are published after a few days of the result announcement when the IIMs and other colleges start their shortlisting process. The IIMs opens their shortlisting window based on the CAT cut-offs two to three days after the result announcement. The CAT percentile of candidates shortlisted for the Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI) can be considered the cut-off for that IIM. For example, if a candidate with a CAT percentile of 99 belonging to the General category is selected for the WAT/GD-PI of IIM Calcutta, then the CAT cut-off for IIM Calcutta is 99 percentile. Only those candidates who make it to the WAT/GD-PI round of IIMs will get to know the cut-offs.
IIM Indore Courses & Fees 2027
Indian Institute of Management Indore offers a two-year full-time residential Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management at the PG level. It also offers the Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) for a duration of one-year. At the PhD level, the institute offers the Executive Doctoral Programme in Management (EDPM), Executive Doctoral Programme in Management and Governance (EDPMG) and the Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM) at the PhD level.
It also offers an alternate weekend Post Graduate Programme in Management for Working Executives (PGPMX), offered in Mumbai for working professionals. For PGPMX, IIM Indore course admission is based on a valid GMAT/ GRE/ CAT/ IIMІ Aptitude Test, followed by an interview round. IIM Indore offers a five-year integrated programme in Management accredited by the Association of MBAs, AMBA London. This five-year Management programme is a combination of both UG (BBA) and PG (MBA) course. Aimed at students who have completed their Class 12 from a recognised board in India, the last two years of the programme are at the PG level. IIM Indore accepts CAT for its flagship PGP course. CAT 2026 registration window is now live; interested candidates must visit the CAT official website to register themself by following the steps given below.
- Open iimcat.ac.in website
- Click on 'CAT 2026 New Register' tab under the 'New Candidate Registration' tab
- Enter name, date of birth, email ID, mobile phone number and nationality
- Click on the 'Generate OTP' tab
- On successful registration, an OTP will be sent on the registered mobile number and email ID
- Verify CAT 2026 registration with the OTP
- Fill the CAT application form with all the required details

There are mess facilities and round-the-clock canteen facilities with vegetarian and non-vegetarian food available to the students. Various other snacks, biscuits, chocolates, ice cream and soft drinks are available in the mess itself. Apart from the regular mess, a night canteen is run from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for students to order anything from noodles to parathas. Apart from this, JAM— a students’ initiative that provides fresh fruits and juices etc. is also available on the hostel premises. The students also run a self-managed goods store— PI Shop that stocks anything from stationery and snacks to self-care products and daily need items.
There are single-seated/twin-sharing accommodation facilities available for all the students on the campus premises with separate blocks/floors for men and women. The hostels are interconnected, mostly in blocks of three. Each hostel block has a common room where facilities such as wall-mounted televisions with DTH connection, table-tennis tables, dart games and carrom and chess games are available. Each block is also equipped with water coolers and water purifiers. The individual rooms are furnished with teak cots and mattress, a computer table, chairs, closets and shelves. All rooms have full-time internet connectivity with direct lines to the main LAN.

The admission cycle for the flagship PGP courses of IIM Indore is ongoing via CAT. IIM Indore has adopted a three-stage selection process for admission to its PGP and PGP HRM programmes, which is as follows:
Eligibility criteria
All applicants must fulfil the eligibility requirements specified for PGP admission. A pass in any UG degree or completion of a professional degree (CA/ CS/ ICWA/ FIAI) with at least 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates) is required to apply for the PGP course.
Shortlist for PI
Only those aspirants satisfying the eligibility requirements will be shortlisted for the PI round. A sufficient number of candidates for PI from each category will be shortlisted using the merit list generated based on the composite score. Individual regret letters will not be sent to applicants who are not shortlisted for PI.
Final Selection
After completion of the above selection rounds, a category-wise merit list is generated based on the final composite score and provisional admission offers are made accordingly.
CAT lays a lot of emphasis on analytical skills so the questions are asked mostly from those topics which require deep learning and practice. The three sections of CAT question paper are designed in such a way that candidates have to use their ability of minute observation and fast calculation. IIM Indore Integrated MBA admissions are through the IPMAT test. The institute does not offer direct admissions for the programmes.
