The name and address of the NIFT 2024 exam center allocated to the candidate will be mentioned on the admit card. In addition, it will also contain exam-day guidelines, including exam centre reporting time.

The written exam of NIFT 2024 will be conducted in the following 60 cities. The candidate can select their choice of exam city when filling out the application form.

Admit cards, results and seat allocation schedule for NIFT 2024 are available on the NIFT website / Admissions portal only. Candidates need to check the website/admission portal regularly
for updates. No intimation will be sent by Post.

Candidates having a UG degree in any discipline from any Institute /University recognized by law in India can apply for the M.Des. Programme. 

For undergraduate programs, you can apply to all B Des and B.F.Tech Programs. Candidates applying for B.F.Tech Programme (with Physics and Maths), will also be eligible to
enroll for B.Des courses. However, PG candidates can apply for only ONE postgraduate program. 

Yes. The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) NIFT was granted statutory status under the Act of Parliament of India in 2006. This empowers the Institute to award degrees and other academic distinctions.

In addition, NIFT is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

The NIFT 2024 cut-off will be based on the following factors:

• Total number of applicants 
• The NIFT 2024 merit rank of these applicants
• Seat available for the applied program 
• The category under which admission is sought
• Previous years' cut-off trends

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will release admission cut-offs for NIFT 2024 at the time of seat allotment.

Note that NIFT 2024 counseling and seat allotment will be conducted in May-June 2024.

The cut-off will be released for all the participating colleges and will be category and program-specific.

The NIFT 2024 answer key will be released tentatively in the 3rd week of February 2024.

The National Institute of Design (NID) conducted the DAT Prelims exam on December 24, 2024. The exam was administered in a center-based mode to shortlist candidates for DAT Mains.

DAT Mains will include a Studio Test (+ an Interview for M.Des).

The final merit list of NID DAT 2024 will be prepared by giving weightage to DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.

The UCEED and CEED 2024 entrance exams will be conducted on January 21, 2024 (9 am - 12 noon).

The exams will have two parts - Part A and Part B.

Note that Part B answer booklets will only be evaluated if the candidate qualifies Part A.

IIT Bombay will release admit cards for the UCEED and CEED exams on January 5, 2024.

The seat intake for the Foreign/ NRI category is given below: 

Candidates seeking admission under the Foreign Nationals/ NRI category aren’t required to appear in the NIFT 2024 entrance exam.

The merit list for such candidates will be prepared considering SAT/ GMAT/GRE scores.

The candidate is not allowed to submit fresh applications during the NIFT 2024 correction window.

Also, only such candidates who have duly filled out the application form and paid the application fee are allowed to make any changes to the submitted application form.

You can edit the following information during the NIFT 2024 application correction window:

• Qualification
• Make fee payment
• Mobile number

But note that you are not allowed to change the test city.

The application correction window for NIFT 2024 will be open from January 4-8, 2024. Using the edit window, candidates who have already submitted their applications can make some changes to the entered information.

The NIFT CAT written test will be conducted for the B.Des and M.Des candidates. Those opting for other courses aren't required to take the CAT.

The merit list for NIFT lateral entry admission (NLEA) will be based on the following weightage.

So, you must solve at least a few sample papers, if you haven’t already.

The B.Des program seat intake for the All-India category is given below.

Yes, the candidate has to option to apply for both B.Des and B.F.Tech programs. The selection of programs has to be selected at the time of filling out the NIFT 2024 application form.

Also, if the candidate opts for two programs, the application fee will change accordingly (please refer to the previous post).

If you haven't yet filled out the NIFT 2024 application form, you need to do it now. Note that TODAY is the last day to apply without a late fee.

Note that to apply between January 4 & 8, you have to a late fee of INR 5000 in addition to the application fee.

If there are unfilled seats in the OBC (NCL), EWS and domicile (Open) and domicile (OBC NCL) categories, these seats will be converted to the open category after completion of a minimum of two seat-allotment rounds. 

You have to select your category when filling out the NIFT 2024 application form.

The NIFT participating colleges offer the following Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programs:

• Leather Design
• Accessory Design
• Textile Design
• Knitwear Design
• Fashion Communication

Through the NIFT Lateral Entry Admission (NLEA) scheme, candidates who have completed their Diploma in relevant or related fields of Design & Technology will be considered for direct admission to the 3rd semester of a UG program. 

Eligible candidates have to appear in the NIFT 2024 exam, which will include a written exam, studio test/ technology aptitude test, and a personal interview. 

The NIFTs have an intake of 473 seats for NRI candidates; note the total intake for all the courses is 5,289 seats.

Note that the NIFts offer B.Des, M.Des, B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech., and M.F.M courses.

Admission to NRI courses will be based on SAT/GMAT/GRE scores.

The Situation Test / Interview is the 2nd stage of the NIFT 2024 entrance exam. Candidates are shortlisted for the Situation Test/ Interview based on their performance in the written exams.

Note that the final result will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exams and situation test/ personal interview.

The NIFT 2024 written exam has two papers - CAT and GAT.

The General Ability Test (GAT) is mandatory for all courses and will be for be conducted as a CBT exam. The paper will be bi-lingual.

The test duration will be 120 minutes and will include 100 multiple-choice questions. Questions will be asked from sections like Communication Ability, English Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Analytical Ability, and GK and Current Affairs.

The GAT paper will be conducted first, followed by the Creative Ability Test (CAT).

The NIFT 2024 application form with regular fees will close today (January 3, 2024); the application form opened on December 5, 2023.

Candidates who meet the prescribe eligibility criteria need to apply for the exam before the last date. Note that, applications with lare fees (INR 5000) will be accepted from January 4-8, 2024.

The reservation criteria for NIFT 2024 seat intake are given below.

The admit cards for the written exam of NIFT 2024 will be released in the 3rd week of January 2024.

The candidate will have to select an exam city when filling out the NIFT 2024 application form. There will be no option to select an exam center, however. 

The allotment of exam centre will be based on the exam city selected and the address shared by the candidate.

The National Institute of Fashion Technologies (NIFT) will conduct the NIFT 2024 written exams in 60 cities. Note that each of these cities may have one or more test centres. The candidate has to select their choice of exam city when filling out the NIFT 2024 application form.

The NIFT application form with a late fee will close on January 8, 2024. After that, the candidate will be given the option to edit the application form from January 10-12, 2024.

Using the edit window, the candidate makes some corrections to the information entered in the application form.

No, there is no age limit for applying to the M.Des program. So, if you meet the academic requirements for the program, you may apply for admission.

To apply for the B.Des program at the NIFTs, the candidate needs to be less than 24 years of age as on August 1 in the admission year. In the case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Person with Disability (PWD) categories, relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit is applicable.

The admission officials of NIFT 2024 will verify the eligibility of the candidate before confirming their admission. Any candidate who fails to meet the eligibility conditions will be disqualified.

The NIFT application form has to be filled out in online mode only. There is no option to apply for the exam online. So, if you download the application form somehow, and send the filled in form to the NIFT admission office, it will be rejected.

Candidates seeking admission to the B.F.Tech programs need to meet the following criteria:

B.Des candidates need to meet the following criteria:

Age limit: Less than 24 years as of August 1 of the admission year. In case of SC, ST, and PwD candidates, 5-year relaxation in the upper age limit applies.

Academic criteria: 

The candidate must have passed 10+2 exam from a recognized institute.

OR

Passed Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.

OR

Obtained a 3 or 4-year diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

OR

Passed any Public School/ Board/ University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to a 10+2 system

OR

General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/ Cambridge/ Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate

There are a total of 4,392 seats that are available under the All-India category. However, these seats are further sub-divided into courses and reservation categories.

The NIFTs have a combined intake of 5, 289 seats. Of these, 424 are state domicile seats.

Note that only candidates who meet the domicile requirements for the particular institute will be considered for admission to these seats.

The candidate can apply for the NIFT 2024 exam both with regular and late fees.
