
NTA released the NIFT 2027 Exam dates. The exam will be conducted on January 10, 2027. This information was released by NTA in its examination calendar.
NIFT 2027 Notification and Application will be tentatively released in November- December 2026. For 2026, it was released on December 08, 2025. The application will open at exams.nta.nic.in/niftee. The application for NIFT Exam 2027 will be common for all 20 NIFT campuses. The NIFT Prospectus and Information Bulletin will also be released along with the notification and application.
NIFT Entrance Exam will be conducted offline at the allotted centres. There will be two stages in the NTA NIFT Exam: NIFT Stage I/ NIFTEE. This will comprise NIFT GAT and NIFT CAT and the second stage will be NIFT Situation Test and/or Interview. Candidates who clear the NIFT Stage I will be eligible to appear for NIFT Stage II.

What is NIFT Entrance Exam?
NIFT is a national-level design entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency. NIFTEE Stage 1 exam includes written exams comprising the NIFT GAT (General Ability Test) and NIFT CAT (Creative Ability Test). The GAT paper is mandatory for all programs, while only B.Des and M.Des candidates need to take the CAT.
NIFT Stage 2 includes Situation Test and Interview. Shortlisted UG candidates have to appear in the NIFT Situation Test, whereas PG candidates need to appear in a Personal Interview. Admission to the B.F.Tech program will be based on GAT scores.

The eligibility criteria for NIFT UG and PG programmes is different for different programmes. For NIFT B.Des, candidates should have an age of less than 24 years. NIFT Entrance Exam 2027 Application Form
The application form for NIFT 2027 will open in November- December 2026. The candidate can select their program of study when filling out the form. To fill out the form, follow these steps.
- Go to the NIFT admission portal and click on the "NIFT Registration" link.
- A registration form will open. Enter your name, email ID, phone number, and other relevant details.
- On registration, an applicant account will be created.
- Log in to fill out the rest of the form and select an exam center.
- Upload documents.
- Finally, pay the application fee to complete the process.

The correction window will open in the last week of January 2027. NIFT Entrance Exam Admit Card 2027
Admit Card: Jan ' 27
NTA will release NIFT Admit Card in the first week of February 2027. Admit card is released a few days before the exam. NTA also releases NIFT City Intimation Slip for Stage 1 and Stage 2 for candidates to prepare their travel week. Admit card for Stage 2 will be released in the third week of April 2027.

NIFT Exam Day Guidelines 2027
Candidates must bring the following documents on the day of the NIFTEE Examination. Candidates who do not bring these will not be allowed to appear in the Examination.
- Printed copy of NIFT 2027 Admit Card
- Two passport-size photographs (same as uploaded on the Online Application Form) for pasting on the attendance sheet at the Centre during the Examination.
- Any one of the authorized Govt. photo IDs (must be original, valid and non- expired), viz. School Identity Card/ PAN card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/Passport/Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/ Aadhaar Enrolment No/ Ration Card
- PwD certificate / UDID issued by the Competent Authority, if claiming the relaxation under PwD category.
- Candidates must reach at least 1 hour before the reporting time.
- Candidates should dress modestly as per the NIFT Exam Dress Code.

Syllabus for NIFT 2027 Situation Test
B.Des candidates must appear in a Situation Test. PG candidates must appear for a Personal Interview. The NIFT Situation Test will evaluate the “material handling and innovative ability” of applicants. Here, candidates will be examined in areas like “Space Visualization, Innovative and creative use of given material, the composition of elements, color scheme, construction skill, the finesse of the model, and overall presentation, etc.
At the time of the Situation Test, the candidate must submit a NIFT write-up explaining the model. The write-up must be in the English language. No marks will be given for a write-up in any other language.

Yes, the candidate is allowed to challenge the draft version of the NIFT answer key.
Objections cannot be filed against the final answer key. The answer key contains the official keys to all the questions asked in the exam.
Objections against the NIFT answer key have to be filed online through the candidate portal. To file objections, the candidate has to pay a fee of INR 200 per objection.
NTA/NIFT /Government of India can use the data provided by candidate for internal purpose(s) including training, research and development, analysis and other permissible purpose(s). However, this information will not be shared with any third party or private agency for any other use.
Important or relevant information about the NIFT 2027 exam will be sent by NTA through e-mail on the registered e-mail address and/or through SMS on registered mobile number only. Also, the NTA will not be responsible for any non-communication/ miscommunication with a candidate in the email address or mobile number given by him/her other than his/her own.
As per Section 2(t) of the RPwD Act, “Persons with Disability (PwD)” means a person with long-term physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairment which, in interaction with barriers, hinders his full and effective participation in society equally with others.
The National Instituite of Fashion Technology will release the NIFT at the time of seat allotment and counseling.
The cut-offs will be available institute- and category-wise for all the program at nift.admissions.nic.in.
Good score for B.F.Tech is 95+ for General, 80 for OBC, 60 for SC/ST.

The allotment of seats for NIFT will be based on the following parameters:
- Choice opted at the time of counseling registration (academic programs + campuses)
- The category of the candidate
- Seat intake in the college opted for admission
- NIFT merit rank of the candidate.
NIFT cutoff for a participating NIFT is the last rank for which admission is offered in for a particular programme and category. This means, if a candidate fails to score a rank equal to or higher than the cutoff rank, they don't get admission. Typically, a higher ranked institute will invite: More applications Higher-ranked candidates This in turn pushes up the cutoff in higher ranked (or popular) institutes. Likewise, a lower-ranked institute will receive comparatively fewer number of applications, and mostly from lower-ranked candidates. This means, cut-off in these institutes are lower making it much easier to get admission.
The National Institute of Technology (NIFT) releases answer keys only for the computer-based GAT test. No answer key are released for the offline-based CAT paper.
Also, the keys are released separately for the B. Des, M.Des B.FTech M.FTech and MFM courses. The key will contain the official answers to the questions asked in the entrance exam.
