Gauhati University Introduces Digital Grievance Redressal System for Examination Issues

With over 300 affiliated colleges under its jurisdiction, the university has designated dedicated email IDs for undergraduate and postgraduate students to submit their grievances.
Gauhati University has launched a streamlined digital grievance redressal system for examination-related concerns, eliminating the need for students to visit the Controller of Examinations (CoE) office in person. The initiative aims to enhance accessibility, efficiency, and transparency in resolving student complaints.
With over 300 affiliated colleges under its jurisdiction, the university has designated dedicated email IDs for undergraduate and postgraduate students to submit their grievances. UG students can now reach out via grievance_UG_exam@gauhati.ac.in, while PG students can use grievance_PG_exam@gauhati.ac.in. Complaints must be endorsed by the respective college principals or heads of university departments, with scanned copies of endorsements attached to the email.
Routine grievances will be addressed within 72 working hours, and students will be informed of the status via email. If a studentβs physical presence is required, they will be duly notified, with an option to authorize a representative, preferably a legal guardian.
To assist students in filing complaints correctly, a help desk will operate daily from 2 PM to 5 PM, guiding them on submission procedures.
The move underscores Gauhati University's commitment to a student-friendly, efficient examination process, ensuring quick resolutions while leveraging digital accessibility.

Gauhati University MBA admission is completely based on the merit scores obtained by students in the university/national-level entrance exam along with their merit at the undergraduate level. The university conducts its own entrance exam for admission. However, those with a valid score in national-level entrances, such as MAT/ CAT/ XAT/ CMAT exams are exempted from this test provided they have a score of 75 percentile and above. Those who qualify one of the afore-mentioned exams are required to go through a GDPI round for final selection. Before everything else, students must meet with the minimum eligibility criteria set by the university which is to pass a relevant undergraduate degree with at least 50% aggregate. However, those who are in the final year of their UG degree can also apply provided they have no arrears in the previous semesters and fulfill the complete eligibility before first semester exams.
