The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIML) is set to spearhead a transformative initiative with the establishment of its Centre of Excellence in Blockchain Technology (CoE-BT). Supported by the Government of Uttar Pradesh under its StartInUP Policy, this ambitious project aims to cultivate and support 100 blockchain startups over the next five years, boosting innovation and entrepreneurship throughout the state.
A Groundbreaking Initiative for Blockchain Startups
The CoE-BT represents a significant step in advancing the blockchain technology sector, offering vital support to emerging startups and promoting entrepreneurship in this rapidly evolving field. This initiative aligns with the Uttar Pradesh government's goal of enhancing e-governance by ensuring trust, transparency, and reliability across various sectors.
Possible Ashish Dubey, Faculty-in-charge of IIMLโs Enterprise Incubation Centre, highlighted the importance of this new venture, stating, โThe collaboration with Microsoft under CoE BT will identify new opportunities for innovations and support new technologies to stay ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving field of blockchain. This collaboration will be an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative solutions in blockchain that will have a significant impact on technological infrastructure.โ
Comprehensive Support for Startups
The CoE-BT will serve as a critical technology enabler, providing stakeholders with access to shared learning experiences, resources, and a dedicated blockchain platform. IIML EIC will oversee the training and onboarding of startups, offering comprehensive support that includes mentorship from over 50 industry and academic experts, industry connections, venture capital funding, and specialized training programs for students and aspiring entrepreneurs interested in blockchain applications.
Expanding Blockchain Reach with Outreach Centers
As part of the CoE initiative, IIML EIC, in partnership with Microsoft India, will establish three outreach centers across Uttar Pradesh. These centers, planned for Gorakhpur, Lucknow, and Greater Noida/Meerut, will focus on promoting and nurturing blockchain-based innovation throughout the state.
A Unique Facility for Technological Advancement
The Centre of Excellence in Blockchain Technology will stand out as a pivotal resource and technology development center within Uttar Pradesh. It will play a crucial role in advancing the stateโs technological capabilities and fostering a vibrant ecosystem for blockchain innovation.
Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow offers executive MBA or PGPWE courses for a duration of two years. PGPWE is a uniquely designed course for working executives, entrepreneurs and professionals, who wish to enhance their managerial knowledge and skills through formal management education while continuing to work.
