More than 15 to 25 chief experience officers (CXOs) from top companies addressed the participants, sharing their expertise and experiences in leadership, industry challenges, and innovations.
The six-day CEO Immersion Programme, hosted by IIM Sambalpur for the Executive MBA 2024-26 and MBA for Working Professionals 2023-25 batches, concluded on Monday. The immersive programme was designed to provide participants with valuable practical knowledge, industry trends, and leadership insights through direct interaction with seasoned professionals from various industries.
A Platform for Industry Leaders to Share Knowledge
The programme saw active participation from over 100 executives from different industries, who gained a deeper understanding of the evolving business landscape. More than 15 to 25 chief experience officers (CXOs) from top companies addressed the participants, sharing their expertise and experiences in leadership, industry challenges, and innovations.
Professor Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director of IIM Sambalpur, emphasized the importance of sustainability in industries such as oil, gas, coal, and traditional automotive manufacturing. He highlighted how these sectors are undergoing significant changes, presenting both challenges and opportunities for leaders with the right skills.
"As the world transitions to sustainable practices, industries will face a transformative shift. Institutions like IIM Sambalpur have an essential role to play in leading these changes," said Professor Jaiswal. "We aim to contribute by fostering a knowledge base that supports global organisations and industries, and to further this, we are signing an MoU with an AI-driven learning management system."
Technologies Driving Transformation: A Key Insight
The programme also featured insights from Biswajit Mahapatra, Chief Guest and Head of Customer Solutions, CIO Advisory at Amazon Web Services. Mahapatra emphasized the role of emerging technologies like cloud computing, blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), and intelligent workflows in driving business transformation. He stressed that data is now as indispensable as air, fueling the insights that power the ongoing digital evolution in various industries.
Recognizing Meritorious Female Students
A highlight of the programme was the recognition of meritorious female MBA students. Selected students were awarded a scholarship of ₹1 lakh as a part of IIM Sambalpur's ongoing effort to encourage and support women leaders in business.

IIM Sambalpur is on 58th position in the list of top 100 Management institutes in India, according to NIRF Ranking. The institute offers a two year residential MBA course admission to which is done through CAT, followed by a personal interview and the final merit list is prepared on the basis of the performance of the candidate in academics, CAT, Personal Interview and work experience, if any.
