SBI Clerk selection process comprises prelims and mains exams. Candidates qualifying the prelims exam are called for the mains exam. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit list. Only the marks secured in the mains exam are counted for final SBI Clerk selection. Candidates qualifying the mains exam are called for the local language test.
That is the SBI Clerk selection process consists of two stages namely Prelims and Mains examination. Candidates qualifting the mains exam are called for Local Language Test. Those candidates who qualify in both the stages will be appointed as clerks or Junior Associates in SBI branches. The authority will announce the SBI Clerk recruitment notification on the official website. However, the recruitment process begins with the release of notification. Yes, SBI Clerk can apply for SBI PO exam. However, to apply for SBI Clerk exam, candidates need to take permission from the employer. They are also required to provide NOC of the employer. Upon selection, candidates need to resign from the Clerical cadre post and join afresh as PO. No increment will be considered that is your clerical service won't be counted. Candidates applying for the SBI PO post, need to fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down for the exam. To apply for SBI PO, candidates need to have graduation degree from a recognised university. The age of the candidates should be between 21 and 30 years. Candidates who are in the final year of graduation can also apply subject to the condition that they need to provide the required certificate related to the educational qualification. The selection process of SBI PO comprises prelims exam, mains exam, psychometric test, group exercises and interview.
SBI Clerk starting salary is INR 19,900. The4 revised payscale is INR 17900-1000/3-20900-1230/3-24590-1490/4-30550- 1730/7-42600-3270/1-45930-1990/1-47920. Candidates are also given various allowances. Recruitment is done based on the selection process.
Candidates who are working in SBI in the Clerical cadre are not eligible to apply under this project. Candidates who were earlier employed in State Bank of India and resigned from the Bank while in clerical cadre will also be not eligible to apply for the post.

The total starting emoluments given to the Junior Associates in the metro city such as Mumbai are around INR 29,000 per month, inclusive of DA and other allowances as per the current rate. Besides, two additional increments are given to newly recruited graduate Junior Associates. Earlier, the total starting emoluments for metro cities was INR 26,000. Allowances also vary depending on the place of posting. Candidates are eligible for reimbursement of various perquisites, Provident Fund, Pension under New Pension Scheme (Defined Contribution Benefit), Medical, Leave-Fare, and other facilities as per the requirement of the bank.
The starting basic pay of SBI Clerk is INR 26,730 (INR 24050 plus two advance increments). The pay scale is INR 24050-1340/3-28070-1650/3-33020-2000/4-41020-2340/7-57400-4400/1-61800-2680/1-64480. The total starting emoluments of a Clerical Cadre employee payable at Metro like Mumbai is around INR 46,000 per month inclusive of D.A., other allowances at the current rate and two additional increments for newly recruited graduate junior associates. Allowances may vary depending upon the place of posting. The in-hand salary of SBI Clerk includes the approximate amount a candidate gets after the deductions. The starting salary of SBI Clerk is approximately INR 46000 in a metro city like Mumbai.
A wait list of up to 50% of vacancies (State-category wise) is maintained. Candidates are released from this waitlist on quarterly basis against non-joining and resignation out of the current batch only, subject to the candidates securing minimum qualifying marks as may be stipulated by the Bank for selection. This wait list is valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of final result.
The basic salary of SBI Clerk is INR 17,900. After three years, basic salary is INR 20,900. Again, after three years, the minimum pay is INR 24,590. After certain period, the salary reaches upto INR 47,920.
