Aligarh Muslim University, also known as AMU, is a public university, established in Aligarh, UP in 1920. AMU is UGC approved and is accredited with an A+ grade by NAAC. The university is also a member of the AIU. Aligarh Muslim University has been ranked 10th by NIRF ranking 2025 under the 'Universities' category.
Aligarh Muslim University UP offers about 300 courses at UG, PG, PhD and diploma levels. Yes, Aligarh Muslim University admission to most of the courses is based on CUET scores. Admission to AMU undergraduate courses including BSc (Hons.) Community Science, BA (Hons/Research), BVoc in Production Technology, Polymer and Coating Technology and Fashion Design & Garment Technology and BSc (Hons/Research) is completely based on valid Central University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) scores. From the academic session 2022, all the central universities along with a few state-deemed universities and private universities started accepting CUET scores for admission to their UG and PG courses.
For undergraduate admission to courses, including BA (Hons), BVoc and BSc (Hons) through CUET-UG, candidates must have a valid CUET-UG score. For BA (Hons) admission, candidates must have to attempt the Domain/ General/ Languages sections of CUET while appearing for the entrance test along with the minimum eligibility criteria set by AMU. Final selection for most of the UG and PG courses via CUET is based on candidates' performance in the counselling round. For Aligarh Muslim University B.P.Ed admission, candidates must have passed a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50% and have at least participation in the InterCollege/Inter-Zonal / District / School competition in sports and games as recognised by the AIU/ IOA / SGFI / Govt. of India. Students with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education with 45% marks or Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 45% marks and studied physical education as a compulsory elective subject are also eligible for AMU B.P.Ed admission.

Commonly asked questions On Fees and Eligibility
AMU BA tuition fee ranges between INR 25,500 and INR 40,500. The exact amount depends on the choice of specialisation. The other components included in total AMU fees are hostel fees, medical insurance, mess and other security deposits, etc. It must be noted that the mentioned fee has been sourced from the official website/sanctioning body. It is still subject to change and hence, is indicative.
Admission to the AMU MBA is done based on the performance of the candidates in AMU CAT.The competition level is high for Aligarh Muslim University MBA admission and it is also reflected in the entrance exam conducted by AMU for admission to the MBA programme. The entrance exam is a computer-based test consisting of 100 questions (1 mark each), divided into four sections and they are as under:
- Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension: 25 Marks

Aligarh Muslim University, popularly known as AMU offers a two-year full-time Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) course at the undergraduate level. The AMU BSc in Biochemistry curriculum is designed in a way to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the chemical processes within living organisms. Spread over a duration of three years, which in total is six semesters. Each semester, students will get to learn certain core and Ability Enhancement Discipline Centric Courses. The Training and Placement Office (General) at Aligarh Muslim University was established with the aim of providing placements and fostering corporate connections for the university's students. To be eligible for AMU MBBS admission, candidates must secure 50 Percentile (for the general category). The cutoff marks for 2022 ranged between 715 and 117. The Faculty of Law, AMU is located in Uttar Pradesh India. It offers courses like BA LLB (Bachelor's in Arts with Bachelors in Law) and LLM Programme (Master of Laws). Candidates seeking admission to the MBA programme at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) must meet the eligibility criteria constituted by the institute. Check the table below for AMU MBA eligibility and selection criteria:

Those who meet the eligibility and selection criteria can apply through the AMU’s official website by filling out the online application form by paying the required application fee. AMU conducts an entrance exam for admission to the MBA programme, candidates who qualify for the entrance exam will be shortlisted for the counselling process followed by document verification and fee payment leading to final seat allotment.
The CUET result 2025 will be declared tentatively in last week of July 2025. All of those candidates who will appear for the exam can download their CUET Scorecard online after its release. The link to check the CUET result card will be updated on CUET exam results , and the candidates are supposed to log in to view the CUET 2025 scorecard online. The CUET scores are used for admission to various universities/colleges that the candidates had applied for while filling in the application form. Candidates are advised to download and take a printed copy of the CUET 2025 results when they are released.
The admissions fees to confirm the Aligarh Muslim University course admission to the BSc in Nursing course is INR 29,900. However, candidates securing admissions to the BSc in Nursing course under the SFS have to pay an admission fees of INR 79,900 at Aligarh Muslim University.

To get a seat at AMU for the MBBS course, candidates must appear for the NEET UG entrance exam. Aspirants with a valid NEET UG score are then required to appear for the NEET UG counselling. Based on both the score and counselling, seat allotment will be announced for the students.
