An honest review of Zakir Hussain College of Engineering and Technology.
Placements: For the batch of 2024, the placements are not good. One girl is placed in Engineers India Limited with a package of 16 LPA and three boys got selected in Reliance Industries with a limited package of 7 LPA. A few students opted for Masters abroad and the rest are preparing for GATE 2025.
Infrastructure: My Hostel’s name is Sir Shah Sulaiman Hall, it has a lot of greenery. There are good courts available for games and there is a common room for playing carrom. The dining area is good. The Hostel food is not good and they provide both non veg and veg food options. The vegetarian food is good and so is the breakfast.
Faculty: Chemical engineering faculty is not good except for a few professors who have good qualifications. Two exams are conducted per semester and questions are repeated from the previous years. The course curriculum was not good up to the batch of 2024, post which, under the new education policy, the course is modified.

Strong academics with great infrastructure and supportive faculty.
Placements: The placements in B.Tech Mechanical at AMU were decent, with around 60% of students placed. The highest package was 10 LPA, the lowest was around 3.5 LPA, and the average was 5 LPA. Companies like Tata, Maruti, and L&T are the top recruiters. About 40% of students got internships through TPO. The top roles offered were in design and production engineering.
Infrastructure: The ZHCET Mechanical Department has excellent labs, spacious classrooms, and a well-stocked library with great W-Fi. Hostel life is comfortable, with clean rooms and tasty food in the mess and canteen. Medical facilities are prompt, and sports amenities are top-notch.
Faculty: The mechanical department has experienced and supportive teachers who are knowledgeable. The teaching quality is solid, and the curriculum is mostly relevant, preparing students well for the industry. Exams can be challenging but fair, with a pass percentage of around 4 CGPA.

All colleges are good, but this is the best for me.
Placements: 20% student getting placed on campus every year. 20000 is the highest package and 5LPA is the average placement. Top companies offer to students. 35 percent student got an internship in my course in Lenskart.com and Realme companies. Senior advisory and manager roles are offered by the company.
Infrastructure: Most of the facilities provided by college such as good Wi-Fi network, air-conditioned library. Good faculty of lab and provide instruments. Hostel have cooler and also provided good food such as biryani and paneer. Cricket game is playing and health centre open in the university.
Faculty: Most of teachers graduate from IIT Delhi and IIT Madras. Teaching quality is yes, it's relevant also students make the industry globally. Difficult to pass the exam because paper level is so high and hard checking by faculty members. 35 percent required for passing.

A comprehensive review of my college.
Placements: Placements are dependent on the branch, with the CS students' placement ratio being higher than that of ECE and so on. Students get placed both off-campus and on-campus, with the majority securing placements on campus. AMU has a Training and Placement Officer (TPO) to facilitate good package placements for students. Some of the recruiters include L&T, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, etc. Approximately 70% of students get placed, with an average salary of 4.5 LPA, a median of 5.5 LPA, and the highest being 27 LPA off-campus and 21 LPA on-campus, offered to around 10 or more students. Many students secure internships through the assistance of professors and the TPO, primarily in cities like Bangalore and Delhi.
Infrastructure: AMU has decent infrastructure, with all labs in good working condition. Students perform experiments after being taught by lab assistants. Free Wi-Fi is available for all enrolled students, and classrooms are equipped with both projectors and whiteboards. Hostels are mostly four-seaters in the first year and are quite spacious. However, the quality of mess food is not too good. AMU provides most sports facilities.
Faculty: In the first year, most professors teaching students are assistant or associate professors, all of whom hold PhDs and are proficient in their work, except for a few who merely project PDFs in class. While the teaching may prepare us for exams, I am uncertain about its readiness for the industry. A passing grade requires 35 marks in theory and 45 in labs. Exam questions are moderate and conducted punctually.
Other: I was unable to secure a decent branch in NIT, and since AMU is also a government institution with very low fees, I opted to enroll here. Additionally, as a university offering various fields of study, I can gain diverse experiences here. AMU conducts its own entrance exam for admission to the B.Tech program.
