TG EdCET 2026: Counselling (July 21), Seat Allotment, Cutoff

The Telangana State Education Common Entrance Test (TSEdCET) is conducted every year for admission to the two-year B.Ed programme offered by colleges across Telangana. The examination helps eligible graduates secure admission to teacher education institutions recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
The entrance examination consists of objective-type questions and tests a candidate's aptitude for teaching, subject knowledge, language ability, and general awareness.

TSEdCET Counselling Process

The counselling process generally includes the following stages:

• Candidates register on the counselling portal using their login credentials and pay the required counselling fee.
• Candidates attend certificate verification as per the schedule. Original documents are verified to confirm eligibility.
• Candidates select and prioritise their preferred B.Ed colleges and courses.
• Seats are allotted based on rank, reservation, and choices filled by the candidate.
• Candidates who receive a seat must report to the allotted college within the specified time to complete admission formalities.

To fulfil TSEdCET 2026 eligibility criteria, candidates should meet the requirements:

TSEdCET Eligibility

1. Nationality & Local Status: You must be an Indian citizen. You must meet the local or non-local status rules as per the Telangana Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974.

2. Age Limit: Students must be at least 19 years old. There is no upper age limit to apply.

3. Educational QualificationGeneral Category: You need at least 50% marks in your graduation (BA, BSc, BCom, BE, BTech, BSc Home Science, or a 5-year integrated course) in a subject relevant to the course you’re applying for.

• SC/ST/BC (A/B/C/D/E)/PH Category: You need at least 40% marks in your qualifying degree.
• BE/B.Tech. Candidates: Must have studied Science or Mathematics and scored at least 55% marks.
• Not Eligible: Candidates with degrees like MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BL, LLB, BA (Languages), BOL, or other professional courses.

How to fill TSEdCET Application Form?

The TSEdCET application form was released by the exam conducting body. Meet the admission requirements to start the process. It is important to upload the documents in the preferred size. 

Steps to Fill the Application Form

1. Browse to the- tgache.ac.in.

2. Find “Application Fee Payment”, fill in the important details, and pay the fee.

3. You can pay the fees by using a credit or debit card, net banking, or UPI.

Complete and verify your online application form, then submit it. Print the generated form with your registration number and use this number for all future correspondence.

TS EdCET Exam Pattern

TSEdCET question paper consists of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each question carries one mark, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. The examination is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and has a duration of 2 hours.

Teaching requires certain characteristics: ability to communicate, ability to deal with Children, ability to recognize individual differences etc., apart from analytical thinking and general intelligence. 

General English

Reading comprehension, spelling errors, vocabulary, phrase replacement, error detection and word association.

General Knowledge and Educational Issues

Current affairs (India and International), Contemporary Educational Issues.

• Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate's general knowledge of the environment around them and its application to society.
• Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific outlook as is expected of an educated person.
• The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring Countries, especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Ecology, Economics, General Policy and Scientific Research.

The TSEdCET admit card was released on May 9, 2026. Students were required to carry a physical copy to appear for the exam. TSEdCET admit card download steps are as follows:

• Browse to the admission and test portal.
• Click on the Download Hall Ticket button.
• Enter registration number and date of birth.
• Click on the Download Admit Card button.

The TSEdCET Answer Key was released in two phases: provisional answer key and final answer key. The examination authority released the provisional answer key after the entrance exam. Candidates could compare their responses with the official answers and estimate their probable score. The final answer key was released after the objection window closed. 

The TSEdCET results were declared on May 30, 2026. The TS EdCET scorecard included your name, marks, and rank. 

TSEdCET Result Tie-breaking Process

If two or more candidates get same total marks, Subject/Content marks will be considered to determine their ranking. If tie remains, marks of Teaching Aptitude will be used. If there is still a tie, marks in General English will be considered. If tie continues, marks in General Knowledge & Educational Issues will be taken into account. If tie persists even after that, marks in Computer Awareness will be used to decide the ranking.

If candidates obtain equal marks in all parts of the test paper, they will be placed in same rank bracket. During admission, age will be considered to determine final ranking among such candidates, with preference given to older candidates.
