How is TS Ed.CET Exam Rank Calculated?

The TS Ed.CET (Telangana State Education Common Entrance Test) ranks are determined based on the candidate’s performance in the exam. The process ensures fair evaluation and ranking of all test-takers.

1. Calculation of Marks
Each question in the TS Ed.CET carries one mark. The total marks obtained by a candidate are calculated as:

Total Marks = Number of Correct Answers × 1

There is no negative marking, so incorrect answers do not reduce the score.

2. Determining the Rank
After evaluating all answer sheets, candidates are ranked in order of their total marks.

  • Higher marks lead to a better (lower) rank.

  • In case of a tie (two or more candidates scoring the same marks), the tie-breaking rules are applied.

3. Tie-Breaking Criteria

Candidates qualifying in the teaching entrance test are ranked by the varsity in order of merit based on marks secured by them in the TSEdCET exam. In case there is a tie between the marks of two candidates, Part C marks are taken into consideration to decide the ranking. In case of a tie in Part C marks, Part A marks are taken into consideration to decide relative ranking.

4. Final Merit List
Based on the ranks and percentiles, a merit list is prepared. This list is used during the counselling and seat allotment process for B.Ed. admissions in Telangana.
