IES 2020 DAF link activated. See here the UPSC Engineering Services 2020 Detailed Application Form and its modules.
The IES 2020 Detailed Application Form (DAF) for the UPSC Engineering Services 2020 Interviews was activated on December 24. The candidates can fill the IES 2020 DAF online till January 5. The candidates need to submit the scanned copies of all their academic, employment and category related documents with the IES 2020 DAF.
Candidates need to register themselves before filling the IES 2020 DAF. UPSC registration module is a separate module and only after registering, the IES DAF 2020 will be available to the candidates. The candidates need to fill the following details in the registration form.
- Roll Number
- Name
- Date of Birth
- Mobile No.
- E-mail Address
- Alternate E-mail Address
After the registration, the candidates can access the IES 2020 DAF. There are five modules in the IES 2020 DAF and the candidates should save each of the modules after filling the details online. The modules of the IES 2020 DAF are as follows
- Personal
- Educational Information
- Parental Information
- Employment Information
- Final Submission.
The candidates can change the details filled in the modules as shown above till they finally submit the IES application form. No changes will be permitted in the modules once the form is submitted using the final submission module.

Some details are pre-populated in the modules such as the name of the candidate, Father Name, Mother Name and date of birth as filled in the preliminary stage to avoid any error. These pre-populated details coloured with a grey background and can’t be changed.
The IES 2020 prelims exam was conducted on January 5, 2020 but because of the COVID-19 outbreak in the country the IES main exam was delayed by three months and conducted on October 18. The IES main exam result was released on December 11.

The last date to apply for the UPSC ESE 2026 exam was October 16, 2025 (6:00 PM). It was started on September 26, 2025.

Yes the examination centre lis was released for the UPSC ESE 2026 in the official notification. Therefore, candidates can go through the official notification for the list of exam centres. It is also provided on our Shiksha page.

No. A candidate can not change the examination centre. There is no such provision. Therefore, it is recommended to choose carefully the exam centre. Also, check the official notification for the same.

Yes. In the UPSC IES prelims exam, there is a negative marking of 1/3 for each incorrect answer.

The UPSC IES exam pattern for prelims exam consists of two papers namely Paper 1 and Paper 2. Objective type questions are asked in the examination. It is conducted in offline mode (pen and paper based). In Paper 1, 100 questions are asked of maximum 200 marks and duration is two hours. In Paper 2,

In the UPSC ESE/IES Mains exam, descriptive and subjective questions are asked. The exam consists of two papers from specific engineering stream. Maximum marks of each paper is 300 and the duration of each paper is three hours.
