SSC CGL Notification 2025: Vacancies, Eligibility, Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Important Dates

The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC CGL 2025 notification PDF on its official website on June 9, 2025. The candidates are suggested to read and understand the SSC CGL notification to understand the SSC CGL 2025 selection process.

The official notification mentions the SSC CGL eligibility in its entirety. The candidates must refer to the official notification to know all the components of SSC CGL eligibility, such as the following:

• SSC CGL Age Limit
• SSC CGL Education Qualification

SSC CGL Nationality/Citizenship Requirement

 A candidate must be either a citizen of India, a person of Indian origin, a subject of Nepal/Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee

SSC CGL 2025 Age limit

There are four age limits prescribed by the Commission for the SSC CGL exam.

SSC CGL Educational Requirement

A candidate should complete a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or institute. The candidates can read and understand the SSC CGL eligibility conditions here.

The SSC CGL 2025 application link will be activated with the release of the official notification. SSC CGL applications 2025 will be filled out online only. SSC provided a month to fill out the SSC CGL application online. The candidates need to register for the exam, and if they have registered earlier, they can fill out the application directly using that registration number.

The Staff Selection Commission released 14,582 SSC CGL vacancies in the official notification. The SSC CGL vacancy list PDF will be released later. The Commission releases the post-wise and category-wise vacancies separately. As per the media reports, there are good number of vacancies in the SSC CGL 2025 exam. The candidates can see below the vacancy distribution of the SSC CGL 2025 vacancies (as given in media reports). The Commission will soon release the SSC CGL vacancy list pdf on its official website.

The Central Government has emphasised recruitment in the Central departments and ministries. The candidates can expect a higher number of vacancies in the official notification. The number of vacancies is the most important component of any notification. It officially announced the number of vacancies in the recruitment notification. It serves as the motivation factor for various candidates. SSC release the vacancies with the notification and sometimes separately after the release of the notification. SSC CGL vacancies can be revised even after the Tier-I exams.

The notification chalks out the details of the SSC CGL Post and their salary structures. The candidates can see the notification to decide which post is governed by which ministry, the classification of the posts, Physical requirements and Pay levels. SSC CGL posts are classified into three categories:

• Group ‘B’ Gazetted
• Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted
• Group ‘C’

There are only two SSC CGL posts which are classified as Group 'B' Gazetted. The details of all the SSC CGL posts are given below:

The above posts were included in the last year's notification. These posts will be updated as per the latest notification after its release.

The Commission is expected to continue with the existing SSC CGL exam pattern. The candidates should practice with the mock tests so that they can attempt the questions without surprise. The Commission will conduct the SSC CGL 2025 exam as per the exam pattern mentioned in the official notification. SSC CGL exam has two stages only.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2025

The Commission did not change the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam pattern. Most of the candidates are filtered out at this stage only because of the level of competition involved in the exam. The candidates can see here the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam pattern.

Major subjects from which questions are asked in SSC CGL tier-I and tier-II exams are:

SSC CGL Tier 1 Syllabus 2025

SSC CGL Tier-I exam has the the highest number of candidates appearing for the exam. It is conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT). It works as the filter exam and weeds out most of the candidates. The marks secured in the Tier-I exam is considered for the final merit list.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Syllabus 2025

SSC CGL Tier-II exam is also conducted as CBT online. The marks secured in the Tier-II exam plays a crucial role in the final selection. The SSC CGL 2025 Syllabus has been revised and modified to include General Awareness and Computer Awareness in the Tier 2 exam. Now onwards, there will be three papers in the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam.
