UPSC Calendar 2023 Released

UPSC Calendar 2023 has been released on May 5. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) releases its exam calendar one year in advance. UPSC Calendar 2023 was released online only. It mentioned the notification, application and exam dates of all the exams conducted by UPSC. UPSC exam dates are very important for the UPSC exam preparation. The candidates prepare their study plan, keeping in mind the exam dates. UPSC provides twenty days-time to fill in the application for any exam.

UPSC calendar 2023 mentioned the exam dates of the Civil Services exam, Combined Defence Services exam, National Defence Academy exam, Central Armed Police Forces exam, Engineering Service exam, Combined Medical Service exam, Combined-Geo Scientist exam and Indian Forest Service exam. Next year, UPSC will conduct the Central Bureau of Investigation (Deputy Superintendent of Police) for the first time in recent years. It is not clear whether this will be a departmental exam or the direct recruitment exam.

Q:   Is there any deadline for registration for IAS exam?
A:

The candidates need the UPSC registration number for fill the Civil Service application form. They are required to fill in the personal details in the registration form. The candidates need to upload their academic certificates on upsconline.nic.in. 

Q:   Is the UPSC 2024 applications available offline?
A:

The Union Public Service Commission releases the notification and applications online only. The candidates are required to apply online only for the exam. There is no provision of application, admit card and result for any of the UPSC exam and the Civil Service Exam is not an exception to it.

Q:   How to register for IAS application?
A:

The candidates can see below the registration process for the UPSC IAS application form. The candidates can register for any exam on the official website - upsc.gov.in. The candidates can see below the steps to register for the IAS application:

  • Visit the official website of UPSC- upsconline.nic.in
  • Click on the Exam Notifications tab.
  • Click on Apply Online link.
  • Click on the link available for Civil Services Part-I registration.
  • Read the application form instructions carefully and click on Yes.
  • Fill the personal details as asked in the UPSC registration form. 
  • Submit the personal details and verify the mobile number and email id.

Civil Service Exam (IAS) Exam 2023

Civil Service Exam is conducted to recruit the candidates for Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, Central Civil Service and Indian Forest Service (Prelims only). Civil Service Exam 2023 notification and application will be released on February 1. IAS prelims 2023 exam will be conducted on May 28. Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) Exam 2023

Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) 2023 exam notification and application will be released on April 26, 2023. The application will close on May 16, 2023. CAPF (AC) exam is conducted to recruit the candidates for the Assistant Commandants (AC) for the Central Armed Police Forces. CAPF (AC) exam 2023 will be conducted on August 6.

Engineering Service Exam (IES) 2023 Exam

Engineering Service exam recruits engineers for various Central Government departments and associated Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs). Indian Engineering Services (IES) was the predecessor of this exam. IES 2023 exam notification will release on September 14 and the ESE prelims exam will be conducted on February 19, 2023.

The Union Public Service Commission will release the image specification in the official notification of any of its exam.  The Commission mentions the following image specification as below:

Q:   How many days are provided to fill out the IAS application form?
A:

The Union Public Service Commission provides only 20 days to fill the UPSC Civil Service (IAS) application form online. The UPSC IAS 2026 notification has been postponed and will be released soon at upsc.gov.in.The last date to fill the online applications will also be revised from February 3, 2026.

Q:   Can I upload the black and white photograph for the IAS 2024 application form?
A:

The Union Public Service Commission released the official IAS 2024 notification online on February 14, 2024. The Commission mentioned in the official notification that the candidates are required to upload a clear photograph in the official notification. The candidates should upload the coloured photograph to enhance clarity.

The coloured photograph will also help in mathing the picture with the photo identity proof. The candidates are suggested to upload a clear picture so that the recognition become easy.

Combined Defence Service (CDS) Exam 2023

CDS exam 2023 is conducted in a combined manner by UPSC and the Ministry of Defence. The written exam is conducted by the UPSC in an offline manner and the SSB interview is conducted by the respective services. The CDS 2023 exam will be notified on December 21, 2022, and the exam will be conducted on April 16, 2023.

National Defence Academy (NDA) Exam 2023

NDA exam is conducted to recruit the candidates for the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy (NA). The eligibility for the NDA exam is intermediate only. It is the only exam conducted by UPSC having eligibility lower than the graduation degree. On the pattern of CDS, this exam is also jointly conducted by the Ministry of Defence and UPSC. The written exam is conducted by UPSC and the SSB interview will be conducted by the nodal authority appointed by the Ministry of Defence.

Combined Medical Service (CMS) Exam 2023

Combined Medical Service (CMS) 2023 exam is conducted to recruit the doctors (MBBS degree holders) for the CGHS, Indian Railway Hospitals and NDMC hospitals. CMS 2023 exam notification will be released on April 19, 2023, and the written exam is conducted on July 16, 2023.

Besides the above, UPSC will also conduct the CISF (Exe.) exam and CBI (DSP) exam.
