What is CG PAT?

The Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board, Raipur conducts Pre Agriculture Test commonly known as CG PAT for admissions to Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Agriculture and Horticulture offered at the affiliated colleges to Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV). The entrance exam is held in a pen-paper based tets mode across more than 35 test centres in Chhattisgarh. The question paper of CG PAT is based on three subject groups - Agriculture Group; Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) Group; and Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) Group.

CG PAT 2026 Counselling

The CG PAT 2026 counselling registration is expected to start in July 2026. Students who qualify for the CG PAT 2026 Exam will be the only ones to receive an invitation for the counseling process. The selected candidates need to report to the Agriculture College, Raipur, for the document verification process.

The date for the declaration of provisional allotment seat, document verification process for the phase-1 counselling process, end date to submit the provisional seat allotment fee and end date to submit the provisional seat allotment fee, spot counselling round and list of vacant seats likely to start from July 2026 tentatively.

As part of the CG PAT counselling process, students need to register and upload documents. Upon the verification of documents, they will be allotted seats, which they have to accept by paying the requisite fee. Generally, three rounds of counselling are conducted, and a fourth or a mop-up round will be conducted depending on the number of vacant seats.

CG PAT 2026 Exam Pattern

As per the pattern of the CG PAT exam, it is a paper-pencil-based test of three hours duration. The total number of questions is 200. There will be three sections, wherein two sections carry 60 questions and one section carries 80 questions. Each question is of one mark and there is no negative marking scheme. The questions are objective type and carry multiple-choice questions. The medium of the exam is English and Hindi. Candidates need to opt for their preferred language while filling the application form.
