APEdCET 2026 Syllabus for General Knowledge & Teaching Aptitude
The APEdCET 2026 Syllabus for General Knowledge & Teaching Aptitude is designed to evaluate a candidate’s awareness of current events, general understanding of the world, and ability to think and act like a teacher. This section forms Part-B of the APEdCET exam and carries equal importance for all candidates.
- General knowledge of the environment around a candidate and its application to the society
- Current events and matters of everyday observation and experience in a candidate's scientific outlook as is expected of an educated person
- Questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Ecology, Economics, General Policy and Scientific Research
- Teaching requires certain characteristics like the ability to communicate, ability to deal with children, ability to recognise individual differences etc., apart from analytical thinking and general intelligence. One who has these characteristics will be able to become a good teacher after training. Questions relating to these aspects will be included to test one’s teaching aptitude.

The APEdCET 2026 Syllabus for Part-C Exam focuses on the subject methodology chosen by the candidate based on their graduation stream. This section tests in-depth knowledge of the specific subject and teaching skills related to it. Candidates can select one subject from the following options:
- Mathematics: Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Statistics, and Mathematical Reasoning.
- Physical Sciences: Physics and Chemistry topics from graduation level, including Mechanics, Heat, Light, Atomic Structure, and Chemical Reactions.
- Biological Sciences: Botany and Zoology concepts such as Cell Biology, Genetics, Ecology, and Human Physiology.
- Social Studies: History, Geography, Civics, and Economics covering Indian and World perspectives.
- English: Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Literary Forms, and Communication Skills.
The APEdCET Part-C syllabus 2026 helps candidates prepare according to their chosen subject and improve their performance in the exam.
Note: In Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences and Social Studies syllabus will be of graduation level (revised common core degree syllabus). In English, questions will be related to the English taught in classes VIII, IX, X and two-year Intermediate course of A.P.
