APEdCET 2026 Syllabus for General Knowledge & Teaching Aptitude

  • General knowledge of the environment around a candidate and its application to the society
  • Current events and matters of everyday observation and experience in a candidate's scientific outlook as is expected of an educated person
  • Questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Ecology, Economics, General Policy and Scientific Research
  • Teaching requires certain characteristics like the ability to communicate, ability to deal with children, ability to recognise individual differences etc., apart from analytical thinking and general intelligence. One who has these characteristics will be able to become a good teacher after training. Questions relating to these aspects will be included to test one’s teaching aptitude.

APEdCET 2026 Syllabus for Part-C Exam

Part C of the AP EdCET exam 2026 is the most crucial section as it tests the candidate’s subject knowledge in the methodology chosen at the time of application. This section carries 100 marks and is based on the subject specialization the candidate wishes to pursue in the BEd course. Candidates can choose one methodology subject from the following:

1. Mathematics (MS)

  • Algebra

  • Trigonometry

  • Geometry (2D & 3D)

  • Calculus (Differentiation & Integration basics)

  • Probability & Statistics

  • Number System

  • Mensuration

  • Arithmetic (Percentages, Ratio & Proportion, Averages, Simple & Compound Interest, Profit & Loss, Time, Speed & Distance, Work & Time)

 

2. Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) (PS)

 

  • Physics: Mechanics, Heat, Light, Sound, Electricity & Magnetism, Modern Physics (Basics)

  • Chemistry: Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding, States of Matter, Acids & Bases, Solutions, Periodic Table & Properties, Organic & Inorganic Chemistry basics

 

3. Biological Sciences (Botany and Zoology) (BS)

 

  • Zoology: Human Physiology, Reproduction, Genetics, Evolution, Ecology

  • Botany: Plant Physiology, Cell Biology, Classification, Plant Kingdom, Photosynthesis, Plant Anatomy, Biotechnology

 

4. Social Studies (Geography, History, Civics and Economics) (SS)

 

  • History: Ancient, Medieval & Modern Indian History, World History basics

  • Geography: Physical Geography, Indian Geography, Resources, Climate, Agriculture, Population

  • Civics/Political Science: Indian Constitution, Governance, Democracy, Rights & Duties, Social Justice

  • Economics: Micro & Macro Economics, Indian Economy, Economic Development, Poverty, Employment, National Income

 

5. English (Special English in BA)

 

  • Vocabulary (Synonyms, Antonyms, Word Formation)

  • Grammar (Parts of Speech, Tenses, Articles, Prepositions, Voice, Speech)

  • Reading Comprehension

  • Correction of Sentences

  • Literary Forms (Prose, Poetry, Drama, Novel)

  • Language Usage & Functional English

  • Communication Skills

 

Note: In Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences and Social Studies syllabus will be of graduation level (revised common core degree syllabus). In English, questions will be related to the English taught in classes VIII, IX, X and two-year Intermediate course of A.P.
