AMU PhD courses are doctoral level courses that have a duration of five years. PhD at AMU is offered in many specialisations across most departments of the institute including PhD in Home Science, Hindi, Commerce, Tourism, Law, Biochemistry, Business Administration, etc.
Selection of candidates for the AMU PhD admission will be based on the AMU entrance exam. However, candidates can also appear for the UGC NET to qualify for the Aligarh Muslim University course admissions to the PhD course as well.

For undergraduate admission to courses, including BA (Hons), BVoc and BSc (Hons) through CUET-UG, candidates must have a valid CUET-UG score. For BA (Hons) admission, candidates must have to attempt the Domain/ General/ Languages sections of CUET while appearing for the entrance test along with the minimum eligibility criteria set by AMU. Final selection for most of the UG and PG courses via CUET is based on candidates' performance in the counselling round. Talking about the minimum eligibility requirement for AMU UG courses, candidates must have passed the Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 50%. The AMU PhD admission dates are inline with the AMU entrance exam schedule for the PhD course. However, the UGC NET is also an accepted entrance exam for PhD admissions at AMU. Thus, candidates should track either the dates of AMU entrance exam or te UGC NET to not miss the AMU PhD deadline.

To get a seat at AMU for the MBBS course, candidates must appear for the NEET UG entrance exam. Aspirants with a valid NEET UG score are then required to appear for the NEET UG counselling. Based on both the score and counselling, seat allotment will be announced for the students.
