The online/distance degrees offered by the Centre for Distance and Online Education at Annamalai University are valid. Previously, the University Grants Commission (UGC) did not approve its courses starting from 2015. However, Annamalai University DDE  received relief from the Madras High Court in an order dated 21.01.2023. Subsequently, following a reassessment by the UGC, Annamalai DDE achieved a qualifying score of 3.38, which led to extending the validity of its programmes until 2027.

The Annamalai University ME course admission is subject to the fulfillment of eligibility and selection criteria. As per the official website, students who have a valid score sin CEETA PG exam and have passed a BE/BTech degree in relevant stream are eligible for the course. Further, they must fill out a university-level online application form with all the appropriate details along with relevant documents and application fees. After that, students must register and appear for the subsequent CEETA PG counselling conducted by Anna University. At last, the selected candidates must get their documents verified and make the payment of the admission fee to secure admission.
