Gauhati University MBA admission is completely based on the merit scores obtained by students in the university/national-level entrance exam along with their merit at the undergraduate level. The university conducts its own entrance exam for admission. However, those with a valid score in national-level entrances, such as MAT/ CAT/ XAT/ CMAT exams are exempted from this test provided they have a score of 75 percentile and above. Those who qualify one of the afore-mentioned exams are required to go through a GDPI round for final selection. Before everything else, students must meet with the minimum eligibility criteria set by the university which is to pass a relevant undergraduate degree with at least 50% aggregate. However, those who are in the final year of their UG degree can also apply provided they have no arrears in the previous semesters and fulfill the complete eligibility before first semester exams.

The total tuition fee for MBA at Guwahati University ranges between INR 7,000 - INR 3.35 lakh. While students must have completed/ be pursuing (final year) their UG degree in the field of Law, final subject to a university-level entrance exam conducted by GU. For the 2022 academic year, the admission process for LLM at Guwahati University started in November with the opening of applications and the entrance for the same was conducted in December. However, due to the normal study cycle that has rolled back in 2023 for Class 12 and higher education courses after 2 COVID-impacted years, it is expected that the 2023 admissions will start comparatively early for LLM at Gauhati University.

Yes, Gauhati University offers a two-year MBA programme across four specialisations, namely Marketing, Finance, HR, Production. Spread over four semesters, admissions to MBA at GU starts in the month of March and the final shortlist is released in the months of May-June. The course is inclusive of a 60-day internship/ in-plant training for them to learn the basics of solving real life problems in business/ industrial organisations. Students seeking admission must are either required to go through the university-level entrance test followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds or those with a valid score (75 percentile and above) in national-level entrances, such as MAT, CAT, XAT, CMAT can directly appear for GD and PI rounds for final admission.
