Goa University, founded in 1984,   provides higher education in the state of Goa.  It is accredited with 'A+' Grade by NAAC and approved by UGC. Goa University has over 10 schools of study. It offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, Certificate, and PhD courses to students. These courses are offered across Science, Management, Commerce, etc. streams.

In the Goa University, the passing rates are divergent in both the undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Students under the UG have to pass a minimum of 40 percent aggregate mark on a combination of theory and practical. Candidates need to apply online on the official website of Goa University for UG and PG programmes. The university shortlists candidates for PG programmes based on GU-ART conducted by the university. For MBA admission, the university accepts CMAT/ ATMA scores. For UG courses, the selection is based on merit in the last qualifying exam. Candidates might need to come for personal interview round for some of the courses. The university releases its merit lists of the selected candidates for various courses. Goa University offers various UG, PG and doctoral-level courses at campur or through affiliated colleges. The university offers UG courses such as BA, BBA, BSc, etc., while all the PG courses such as MBA, MSc, MCom, MCA, etc., are taught through various schools and departments at the university and affiliated colleges. Candidates need to complete a minimum of Class 12 for UG courses and graduation for PG programmes. Students who have completed a three-year Diploma in engineering can apply for "Lateral Entry" to start directly in the second year. This process is managed by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa, which releases a specific merit list based on your Diploma marks. Once you are allotted a seat in a college under Goa University, you can skip the first-year foundation subjects and jump straight into your chosen BE branch's core technical curriculum.
