Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) - East Delhi Campus is an institution that has received an acceptance rating in the tier two category in India. It is known for its quality education and has a high recognition primarily in courses related to engineering and management. Thus, the General AI category candidates can get admission to the college with 50000 rank in AYUSH. However, at this rank, candidate can get admission to BAMS but not BHMS. 

Based on JEE Main ranks, GGSIPU offers admission to various BTech courses. GGSIPU admission 2023 has been concluded with the release of Round 3 Seat Allotment Results of the counselling conducted by the university for the BTech course. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University's annual hostel cost is INR 29,500. Mess and welfare fees are not included in the hostel fees. The fee for the mess is INR 36,000, while the cost of the welfare is INR 3,000. Candidates need to submit three demand drafts: one for hostel fees, one for mess charges, and one for welfare charges. Two hostels are maintained on campus for male students, and two are maintained for female students. There are more than 180 single-seat rooms in each hostel. Basic furnishings such as a cot, mattress, pillow, chair, table, cupboard, tube lamp, and fan are provided in each room. Mess facilities are available for residents in each hostel. Residents also have access to a common area, a gym, a reading room, and sports facilities. For the hostels, there is a provision for 24-hour water and electrical services.

A notification regarding the counselling process through CUET is released when vacant seats are left after all rounds of counselling. Based on details mentioned in the IPU brochure, the IPU CUET counselling procedure could be in the following manner: 

STEP 1: Counselling Registeration

Candidates have to register (could be online/offline) for counselling. Details such as the aspirant name, programme code and other details have to be provided during registration. The registration fee is INR 1,500.

STEP 2: Login & Enrol

Login with the ID and password generated during registration to fill out the application. The IPU counselling processing fee is INR 1,000, which has to be paid during the enrolment for participation in the counselling procedure after registration. Fill in the details as asked and take a printout of the form and fee receipt. Document verification is carried out in online mode based on information provided by the candidate during enrolment.

STEP 3: Choice Filling/Preference Sheet

The preference sheet is available on the GGSIPU brochure. For online mode, candidates will have to visit the university's official website. It must be noted that the preference sheet is valid for only one counselling round. Hence, for each round, a new preference sheet must be filled out for each counselling round. 

STEP 4: Seat Allocation

After choice filling, seats are allotted to the candidates based on merit, respective category and region. Candidates can be asked to freeze the seat by paying a sum of fee.

In 2022, cut off was 15339 for the General category candidates in All India quota for BTech + M.Tech in Computer Science Engineering in Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. Yes, GGSIPU is good in terms of placements. GGSIPU placement report for 2025 is yet to be released. However, as per the overall NIRF 2025 data, the median package offered UG-4 Year was INR 8.25 LPA. The median package offered to the UG 5-year was INR 8.39 LPA. While the median packages offered to the PG 1-Year and PG 2-Year students were INR 5.35 LPA and INR 6.95 LPA, respectively.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is the 1st university which was established in the year 1998 by Govt. of NCT of Delhi under the provisions of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Act, 1998 read with its Amendment in 1999 The University is recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC), India under section 12B of UGC Act. Indraprastha University BTech admission is done on the basis of a valid score of JEE Main. In the case of GGSIPU admission to B Tech in Biotechnology, a candidate must take up IPU CET or CUET. The flagship programme of the university is the BTech course that is distributed over the course of four years and has eight semesters. The IPU BTech course selection is done by a centralised counselling of the course. Admission to other UG programs as BSc, BCA, BCom (Hons), B.Ed, BA (JMC), BHMCT, BBA, BA (Hons) and BVoc among others is also done on the basis of a valid IPU CET score, which is administered by the University.

The 2024 cutoff ranks for BTech +M.Techin Information Technology at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University other than the General category are - 198167 for SC, 346824 for ST and 45444 for EWS. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut-offs also change a lot depending on the All India quota or Home State. GGSIPU BTech fees range between INR 1.4 lakh and INR 10 lakh. GGSIPU has given weightage to both theory and practical UG and PG courses. Students need to secure a minimum of 75% in semester theory exam for UG courses and 60% for PG programmes. For practical, students need to secure a minimum of 60%. A student must pass both theory and practical examination to pass the semester. Students who fail the internal exam are required to re-appear in the previous semester examination to obtain sufficient credits to be promoted to the next academic year.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is a decent choice to pursue an MBA degree. Talking about the GGSIPU ranking, the University was ranked 65 in the Management category by the National Institutional Ranking Framework in 2024. However, Outlook in its 2024 rankings has placed the university at the 15th spot. IP University also offers placement opportunities to its students. GGSIPU accepts AYUSH entrance exam scores for admission to the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) course. Candidates with AYUSH scores can apply for the BAMS admission at GGSIPU. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University offers admission to MBA course through its affiliated college IITM in the full time mode. Candidates seeking admission to GGSIPU must have a valid score in CMAT. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, however, doesn't release CMAT scores in the public from last few years. Candidates having a valid score in are called for the GGSIPU Counselling based on the scores. GGSIPU accepts CMAT scores for admission to the MBA course across other affiliated colleges as well. Going as per the past year cutoff data, candidates seeking admission can expect an overall cutoff of 85.  

Aspirants who have completed their graduation with a minimum of 50%-60% aggregate are eligible to apply for MBA programme at GGSIPU. Candidates with a 50% score in graduation can also apply provided the requirement of aggregate is 50% or below. For MBA specialisations requiring 60% or above aggregate, candidates need not get admission with 50%.
