IPU MBA Eligibility & Highlights 2026
IPU MBA programme is offered across different specialisations. For a GGSIPU MBA in IT admission, IPU conducts IPU CET, followed by a University-level counselling process. For remaining specialisations, admissions are accepted based on a candidate's CAT score. However, if the seats remain vacant after counselling based on the CAT score, then counselling is conducted based on the CMAT score. In case of seats remain vacant, IPU conducts a Common Entrance Test (CET) for IPU MBA admissions.
The University shall conduct admissions in regular MBA programmes in the University School of Management Studies and affiliated institutes. All the specialisations offered under the IPU MBA course along with their eligibility criteria are given below:

No, CAT is not the only exam based on which admission is granted. GGSIPU accepts the CAT percentile for MBA admission basis on which a merit list of selected candidates is released for the counselling round. Moreover, for the MBA in IT course, the university conducted IPU CET exam is accepted. In case the seats are left vacant after CAT candidates, then the seat allotment is carried out based on the candidate's CMAT scores.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University's annual hostel cost is INR 29,500. Mess and welfare fees are not included in the hostel fees. The fee for the mess is INR 36,000, while the cost of the welfare is INR 3,000. Candidates need to submit three demand drafts: one for hostel fees, one for mess charges, and one for welfare charges. Two hostels are maintained on campus for male students, and two are maintained for female students. There are more than 180 single-seat rooms in each hostel. In Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, better known as IPU or GGSIPU, there’s a 75 per cent reservation for Delhi students. Delhi students are those students who have completed their Class 12 from a school which is in Delhi. The remaining 25 per cent seats are for students from all over India. So, Delhi general refers to those students who passed their school from Delhi but are in the General category while All India general refers to the students who have passed their school from anywhere but Delhi and are from the General category.

GGSIPU admissions are open. A few more updates related to GGSIPU admissions are as follows:
- PhD admissions for winter session is open. The university will conduct the entrance test on Dec 22, 2025.
- The NEET UG Counselling 2025 has concluded, with the final seat allotment result of the stray vacancy round for admission to MBBS, BDS, and BSc (Nursing) courses.
- The CMAT 2026 exam is expected to be held in Jan 2026 for admission to the MBA, PGDM, and MMS courses.
- The CUET PG 2026 registration process for admission to PG courses is expected to begin in Jan 2026.
- The CUET UG 2026 registration window is expected to open in the first week of Mar 2026 for admission to UG courses.
- The NIMCET 2026 application form is anticipated to be available in April 2026 for admission to the MCA course.
- The CLAT 2026 exam for admission to the five-year Integrated LLB (UG) and one-year LLM courses will be held on Dec 7, 2025.
- The XAT registration process 2026 is now open for MBA/PGDM courses. The last date to register is Dec 5, 2025. Furthermore, the XAT 2026 exam will be held on Jan 4, 2026.
- The GATE 2026 exam for admission to ME/Mtech and PhD courses will be conducted on Feb 7, Feb 8, Feb 14, and Feb 15, 2026.
Total course fee is total of multiple components such as tuition fee, library fee, registration fee, security deposit etc. Indraprastha University MBA fees range between INR 1.5 lakh and 5.65 lakh. This fee range includes MBA course fees at several IPU colleges. This information is taken from official website/ sanctioning body and is subject to change. CAT application process for the current year has already been concluded. The exam has also been conducted. The results and answer key are expected to be released at the iimcat.ac.in website. The CAT 2026 registration dates are not announced yet.
IP University is ranked #65 by NIRF in 2024 under the "Management" category. It is the fifth best among NIRF ranked colleges in Delhi in 2024. The university is hence, popular among the students. Some excerpts from verified students reviews on Shiksha by IPU MBA students are:

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is a decent choice to pursue an MBA degree. Talking about the GGSIPU ranking, the University was ranked 65 in the Management category by the National Institutional Ranking Framework in 2024. However, Outlook in its 2024 rankings has placed the university at the 15th spot. IP University also offers placement opportunities to its students. During IPU placements for MBA in 2022 at USMS, the median package offered was INR 5.60 LPA. Additionally, the placement percentage achieved was 91%.
Most of the GGSIPU course admissions are based on entrance test scores. GGSIPU usually don't provide any scope of direct admission to the students. Students must clear the entrance examinations to get admission to the available programmes.
GGSIPU HSTES Cutoff 2025 has been released for admission to B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering and B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The cutoff for both the courses in the last round was 537200 and 982047, respectively for the students belonging to the General AI category. Please note, the cutoffs for each category and round will vary accordingly.
Aspirants who have completed their graduation with a minimum of 50%-60% aggregate are eligible to apply for MBA programme at GGSIPU. Candidates with a 50% score in graduation can also apply provided the requirement of aggregate is 50% or below. For MBA specialisations requiring 60% or above aggregate, candidates need not get admission with 50%.
To get admission to MD course at GGSIPU, candidate must have attained a valid rank in NEET PG. If you belong to the General AI category, then you can get admission to the college if your rank is below 60874. The last round closing rak=nks for different MD specialisations varied between 25 and 60874.
For candidates belonging to the OBC AI category, then the closing ranks varied between 48 and 86440 for MD specialisations. To check category-wise cutoff fot GGSIPU, candidates can click to this page.
Applicants who want to be accepted into this course must take the CAT entrance test. The last round is made on the performance of the candidates during the GD & PI round. Along with the valid CAT score, the students also need to meet the minimum eligibility criteria. The minimum requirement in terms of eligibility to GGSIPU MBA admission is a bachelor degree in any stream with a minimum aggregate of 50% to 60%.
Yes, GGSIPU accepts CUET scores. For UG courses, CUET-UG and similarly for the PG courses, CUET-PG is applicable. However, it must be noted that preference is given to CUET scores after the respective national-level exams and the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the university. Some of the UG and PG programmes for which this entrance score is accepted are MCA, MA, BSc, BBA and allied programmes, BPharm, BCom (Hons), etc.
The average package offered during IPU USICT placements 2024 stood at INR 7.2 LPA. Further, a declining trend was witnessed in the average package offered over the past three years, which is presented below:

To get IPU (main campus- USLLS and VIPS) you need to have a total score of atleast 470 out of 650. And admission in IPU through cuet happens only after the CLAT rounds are over, so you must wait till the spot rounds.
