Students seeking admission must are either required to go through the university-level entrance test followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds or those with a valid score (75 percentile and above) in national-level entrances, such as MAT, CAT, XAT, CMAT can directly appear for GD and PI rounds for final admission. For admission to the B.Ed programme, the university conducts the various exam. To become eligible for the B.Ed programme, candidate must have passed a degree in graduation in the relevant stream ( BA /BSc /BCom or MA /MSc /MCom or equivalent) from a recognised institute. Also, the candidate must have acquired a minimum aggregate of 50 percent (45 percent for the reserved candidates) with all the subjects put together, candidates who are appearing for the final year examination can also apply for the test.

Gauhati University LLM admission is completely entrance and merit based. While students must have completed/ be pursuing (final year) their UG degree in the field of Law, final subject to a university-level entrance exam conducted by GU. For the 2022 academic year, the admission process for LLM at Guwahati University started in November with the opening of applications and the entrance for the same was conducted in December. However, due to the normal study cycle that has rolled back in 2023 for Class 12 and higher education courses after 2 COVID-impacted years, it is expected that the 2023 admissions will start comparatively early for LLM at Gauhati University.

Yes, as BSc admission takes place through the score and rank secured in CUET entrance exam, the candidate has to apply for the exam to gain admission into the programme. Gauhati University does not accept or conduct any other exam for admission into the BSc programme. In addition to that, candidates should also have a minimum aggregate of 40% in their Class 12 to be eligible for admission into the Gauhati University BSc programme.

As per the official 2022 brochure released by Guwahati University, admission to BTech is completely entrance-based. While 20% of the total seats for BTech are reserved for students who have passed the JEE Main exam (provided that have the official PRC of the state), the remaining 80% of the seats are filled via the pass out students of Assam CEE. Furthermore, students also have an option to secure lateral entry admission directly to the second year of the BTech course. Admission to BTech Lateral Entry courses is subject to a valid score in JLEE Assam exam.

Candidates applying for the BSc programme need to pay some amount of the tuition fees to finalise their admission into the institution. The total tuition fee of Gauhati University BSc is INR 48,000 to 1.4 Lacs depending on the specialisation and the affiliated college chosen. The semester fees is thus in the range of INR 16,000 to INR 47,000 and the candidates have to pay some amount of that to finalise their admission.
