It is improving itself by hiring more companies, But it doesn't allow some students who are selected in one company to sit in another company's placement process.

The college is improving every year.
Placements: In the CSE branch, almost 90 percent of the people get placed every year. The highest being 56.8 LPA this year from DeShaw. The lowest being TCS, which was 3.6 LPA. IIIT Bhubaneshwar's average goes about 9 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Oracle (which recruits almost 20 to 24 candidates every year), Flipkart (recruited 20 candidates, 12 got 34.5 LPA offer, and the remaining 8 who were 3rd year students got internship opportunities).
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure need improvement, but they are improving every year. The quality of single room hostels is decent, and it is value for money. Recently, IRCTC catering services were arranged in the mess, whose food is excellent for the money spent, which is breakfast at Rs. 30, lunch at Rs. 55 and dinner at Rs. 55.
Faculty: Teachers, although very knowledgeable, don't know how to explain the clear-cut concepts of the subject. There are a few renowned teachers who teach extremely well and make the subject interesting and understandable. The course becomes relevant after the first year (First-year subjects were just unnecessary, except for computer-based ones). The semester exams are quite easy to handle if we start studying a day or two before.

Overall, college is good, you will enjoy it here along with your studies.
Placements: Placements are down due to the recession in 2024, but in 2025, placement data has improved over 2024. Flipkart, DeShaw, Oracle, IBM, Deollite, OpenText, Miu sigma and many more companies visited so far for on-campus placement. So, on-campus placement is good here.
Infrastructure: Hostels are structured in a good manner. Each building has 8 floors, and each floor has 7 rooms, 4 washrooms and bathrooms. Sports facilities are limited, we have the same ground for both cricket and football, it's okay, it is IIIT things. Wi-Fi speed is good.
Faculty: Top-quality faculty members are there, but some teachers are very strict, as you all know, someone is always there at any college. Apart from that, teachers are very helpful and will make your journey smoother. From the 2nd year, teachers are extremely knowledgeable.
Other: Sports events like GC (Grand Championship) happen every year. Advaita is our technocultural event, which is a top-notch event of our college. The event is held every year, it's a tech fest of our college, which is popular in the whole of Odisha.

College is good, but very much decent.
Placements: Placements at IIIT Bhubaneswar are quite good, especially for Computer Science and ECE students. Big names like TCS, Infosys, Deloitte, and even Amazon visit the campus, with average packages around 6-7 LPA and top offers going above 20 LPA. The placement cell is supportive, but students need to put in their own effort with coding, internships, and projects. Non-CS branches also get placed, though they might need to explore IT roles or off-campus options.
Infrastructure: The hostel provides three-seater and four-seater rooms, with the possibility of single rooms for students maintaining a CGPA above 8.0 from the second year onward. While the hostels are generally clean, some students express concerns about the age of the buildings and the quality of the mess food.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good at teaching. They conduct quizzes and also give assignments to students so that they can perform well in the future. The vibe is modern, practical, and driven. You’ll be surrounded by people who are curious, motivated, and ready to build cool stuff. If you're into tech and want to learn by doing, while being guided by faculty who care, IIIT Bhubaneswar is a solid place to grow.
Other: I chose this course because I am not getting any other college. This is the only one I am getting.

Very good placements, infrastructure, and environment.
Placements: For computer engineering branch batch 2023, 98% of the students got placed with 60% for internships as well. The highest package was 20 LPA. The lowest salary was 6 LPA. The average salary was around 8.5 LPA - 9 LPA. The top recruiters were Oracle and Siemens (both 18 LPA) where 30% of the students were placed, and Dell (8.5 LPA). Many in my course were placed with a double-digit package. Top roles offered were software developer and data analyst. Placement cell efforts were commendable and provided a helping hand in case to a few unplaced students even after they passed out of college in getting them placed.
Infrastructure: Classroom infrastructure was good and well-designed. Library was good with plenty of books. Labs were average. There was lack of proper equipment. Sports/games facilities were good on campus, and tournaments were conducted regularly. Campus good for walking and relaxing. Hostel was not that bad to live if maintained well. But there was a separate well-built hostel for meritorious students if they opt to live there. Mess food quality was not worth the price paid. Canteen food was a better option. Wi-Fi or internet facilities were not very good on the campus probably due to the college being situated in a bit of outskirts location.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members were good but some were average. Teachers were qualified and helpful for sure but lacked a bit of quality teaching and engaging students well. Course curriculum for my batch was quite irrelevant for the first 2 years, and students had to purely rely on self-efforts to be industry-ready. Semester exams had a good standard of question papers, prepared well, and you passed. But few subjects might be a bit difficult. Pass percentage was usually 98-100% but for difficult subjects it could be 85-90%.
Other: Being an information technology university, the computer science and IT courses were better here and the placement scope was also good. It would be better if the college management prepared the students to be industry-ready by making them do more practical implementation of the subjects then the results would be even better. Events, fests, campus surroundings, and extra-curricular activities were good. Scholarships were provided as well for meritorious students.

College is good. I think it could be better in the future.
Placements: From the 5th semester, students will become eligible for campus placements. DE Shaw, Dell, Oracle, and Infosys are the different recruiting companies. The highest package is 42 LPA and the average is 10 LPA. Almost 90% of students got placed. DE Shaw and Dell offer software development and pay a stipend. The stipend is for 3 months and we need to work for 3 months in the summer time. The projects are related to app development and some electronics and electrical inventions.
Infrastructure: Hostel is decent, but it is little old. A room consists of three people. Rooms have one light, three fans, beds, tables, chairs, and almirahs provided individually. The meal quality of mess is pretty decent. It is edible sometimes it's good and the menu has now improved.
Faculty: The curriculum is very old, no new things are taught. The things that are taught now have no use in the future or in our personal growth that can ensure a good experience for the future. The teaching method is very bad. Faculty members are less. Faculty members are easily approachable and a good relationship can be established. Some faculty members are good but the rest don't teach properly. There are four exams two quizzes one mid-sem and end-sem. Some portions of curriculum are relevant whereas some are not. Subjects like DSA, DBMS, and operation systems are important for our career but some subjects like chemistry and mechanical engineering are not that useful but still curriculum is average.
Other: There is sports ground. Hostel gate closes at 9:30 PM. Library closes at 8:00 PM. Nescafe is available inside the campus. Food stalls are available outside the campus. It is safe to roam around at night both inside and outside of the campus.

Decent college with good students and average infrastructure. I'm satisfied with it.
Placements: Placements are average for computer engineering. Some of them get on-campus placements and some off-campus. Overall about 65% of students get placed till the final year. The placement rate is better than 3rd-tier colleges. It is less than IITs/NITs. The highest package is 80 LPA. The lowest is 5 LPA. Companies like Oracle, Dell, IBM, HDPS, Infosys, etc., recruit many students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average. You have to not expect much from government institutions. Seniors are supportive if you reach out. Wi-Fi is available 24/7 with good speed. Every floor has routers. The library is a bit disappointing. It has mostly subject-related books only. Unlike other colleges, the library remains closed at weekends. It closes at 8 PM. All labs are present and well-maintained. There is one college store at the campus, one Nescafe, and a mess for hostellers. Hostels are available on the 1st and 2nd floors. The food is decent for the price. Classrooms are spacious and fine.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. Exam papers are checked strictly. CGPA is evaluated relatively. It is not absolute like other colleges. Many students fail. Some even carry up to 10 back in till 3rd year. College courses are a bit old-fashioned but events organized by the college societies are great.
Other: I researched computer engineering and not to be confused with computer science engineering. It is a very versatile field with great scope. Very few colleges in India provide this course. Unfortunately, CE is just another CSE branch here. In the end, you are going to graduate with a CSE or IT degree only. The campus is small. It would have been better if it was a bit larger. The location is in a decent town. The main city is 20 minutes away. Scholarships are provided to a few Odia students only. But good things are that it has good supportive seniors, good events, etc.
