JMI Entrance Exam Cutoff 2026: Check Course & Category-wise Cut off Marks

Through JMI Entrance Exam, students can get admissions to undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral (PhD, MPhil) and postgraduate Diploma courses. These courses cover almost every stream. Tie-breaking is a policy which is adopted to break the tie in case two candidates get the same scores in the JMI entrance exam.

In all courses except BTech, BArch, BDS, the tie is resolved on basis of date of birth that is the candidates older in age is given the higher rank. For interview programmes, candidates securing high marks in the entrance exam will be given higher rank. If the marks in written test are same then date of birth criteria is used that is, candidates older in age is given a higher rank. For the BTech, BArch and BDS programmes, the rank of the candidate is allotted by the agency conducting the test.

JMI selection criteria includes shortlisting of candidates on the basis of scores obtained in JMI exam. For some courses candidates are required to also appear for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The cut off for each course is released after the selection procedure is over and candidates are called for counselling and document verification. Candidates have to apply online to appear in JMI Entrance Exam. The application forms are released on the official website of JMI. Candidates have to first create an account by filling their basic details and then fill the detailed application form, select their course, upload required documents and pay the application fee. The registration window usually remains open for a month.

Yes, candidates can submit their objections against the JMI answer key within 48 hours after the same is published through electronic means. Candidates are required to pay INR 500 per programme to challenge the answer key. No grievance is entertained by the university without the payment of fee. The examination authority also do not entertain any requests submitted after the expiry of the time frame. Hence, candidates should raise their objections within the stipulated time.
