JNTUK Course Admissions 2025: Application Process, Eligibility, Courses & Fee

As per the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) admission is based  EAMCET (Engg, Agriculture & Medical Common Entrance Test). However, the university other entrance exams for admission to its UG and PG courses. Tabulated below are cousre-wise entracnec exams accepted by JNTUK: 

Yes, JNTUK does offer M.Tech courses for a duration of over two-years. The university offers Master in Technology courses through the university and its affiliated colleges. To get admission into JNTUK M.Tech specialisations, candidates are required to qualify for their BTech/ BE and equivalent degrees with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Additionally, the admission process is based on GATE, followed by CCMT counselling, and through PGECET counselling for GATE and PGECET-qualified students.

Yes, JNTUK and its affiliated college offer two-year MBA courses spread over four semesters. To get admission into these courses, candidates are required to complete their Bachelor's degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% irrespective of any field. Additionally, candidates must have secured a valid score in any of the following- TSICET/ MAT/ XAT, etc., scores + counselling for JNTUK and its affiliated colleges. Moreover, candidates can pursue their MBA courses in dual specialisation through the university and its affiliated colleges. 

Yes, JNTUK offers four-year BTech courses through its affiliated colleges. The fee and seat intake vary from one college to another. However, the minimum eligibility conditions and selection criteria majorly remain the same. Moreover, BTech is available in various specialisations and sub-specialisations such as:

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada offers MBA as a regular management course. The first year of the programme is all about the basic of management and industry experience. The CGPA provided for a student by JNTUK is the Cumulative grade point for a student’s overall performance throughout all the semesters in a program. The CGPA is calculated by taking into account all the courses undergone by a student in all the semesters of a programme, i.e. CGPA = Σ (Ci X Si) / ΣCi Where Si is the SGPA of the i^th semester and Ci is the total number of credits in that semester.

As per the B.Tech (R16) academic regulations of JNTUK, Kakinada, the following is 
the procedure for the computation of Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). 

SGPA (Si) = Σ (Ci X Gi) / Σ Ci

Where Ci is the number of credits of the ith course and Gi is the grade point 
scored by the student in the ith course.

The CGPA is calculated by taking into account all the courses undergone by
a student in all the semesters of a programme, i.e.

CGPA = Σ (Ci X Si) / Σ Ci

Where Si is the SGPA of the ith semester and Ci is the total number of 
credits in that semester.

The equivalent percentage can be calculated as per the below formula for the 
B.Tech students who obtains their degrees under R16 regulations ie. 2016-17 
admitted batch onwards (2017-18 batch onwards for lateral entry scheme). 

Equivalent Percentage = (CGPA – 0.75) X 10

APICET 2026 registration process will commence online at cets.apsche.ap.gov.in tentatively in last week of February 2026. Candidates can fill the AP ICET application form online (with late fee) on or before the last date. The last date for Andhra Pradesh ICET 2026 registrations will be notified. Registrations with late fee INR 1000, 2000, 4000, 10000 will commence after the registration without late fee ended. Candidates not registering on or before the prescribed date will not be given further chances to apply for the AP ICET exam. Candidates are advised to stay updated with the Andhra Pradesh ICET application form 2026 important dates to know the last date of registrations with and without late fees. Only candidates who will register for the AP ICET exam will be able to download the admit card when released.

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada offers admission through EAMCET, ECET, GATE, APICET, and GPAT exams. 70% of the seats are reserved for candidates who qualify for the entrance examination whereas the rest 30% of seats are reserved for the management/NRI quota.

Subjects included in the first semester of MBA courses at JNTUK are a combination of elective and core subjects. In the first year, the students are provided exposure to core management subjects. In the second year of study, students have to choose an elective to pursue dual specialisations. The names of the subjects included in the first semester are as follows:

There are no minimum scores and ranks required for admission to BTech courses at JNTUK. The ranks and cutoff vary according to the specialisation and seats available at the university. BTech or Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering is a traditional engineering course which provides foundation in computer science and its practical applications. The enginnering course is famous among students as its has high paying job option. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada offers BTech in CSE with multiple sub-specialisations, which are as follows:

The total number of seats offered by JNTUK and its affiliated colleges is 66,698. Vins Christian College of Engineering offers the least number of seats among JNTUK-Affilaited colleges. The college offers 30 seats in the BTech/ BE course. For admission to this college, candidates are required to secure a good score in their Class 12 and then appear for TNEA counselling. 

JNTUK MBA is a general management degree. The programme provides students with basic knowledge in managing the general operations of the company. MBA in general management includes subjects like organisational behaviour, quantitative methods, managerial economics, etc. 

Yes, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada does offers BTech in Robotics as a sub-specialisations of  Mechanical Engineering. The robotics course focuses on the design, development, and application of robotic systems. The course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to work in the field of robotics and contribute to advancements in technology and automation. BTech in ME (Roboctics) is a four year undergraduate programme offered in a full-time mode. Further, to get admission candidates must have a valid eligibility criteria and entrance exam scores in AP EAMCET/JEE Main/AP ECET/ S EAMCET. 

To be admitted to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University's BArch programmes, applicants must first fulfil the basic eligibility requirements before moving on to the secondary eligibility requirements. Accordingly, aspirants must first achieved a minimum aggregate of 50% in their Class 12 from the PCM stream. Followed by valid scores on entrance exams. The university might accept the scores of NATA/ EAMCET for admissions to BArch courses. The university has not mentioned the name of any particular entrance examination for admission to the BArch course. Hence, to know more about the accepted entrance examination, candidates can contact to university's admission department. 

No, candidates with 45% in their Class 12 are not eligible to get admission to BArch courses at JNTUK. The university has demarcated the eligibility criteria to get admission into the BArch course i.e., candidates must have completed their Class 12 education with Physics and Mathematics as major subjects, achieving a minimum of 50% marks. In addition, JNTUK is a public university which is rigid in its eligibility criteria and admission process. However, there are chances that the university grants some concession on the minimum percentage required for admission to BArch courses for reserved categories candidates.
