NLU Assam LLM Eligibility & Highlights 2025
The National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA), famously known as NLU Assam, offers a full-time LLM programme of one-year duration. The PG-level programme is six in three specialisations. NLUJAA LLM courses include an LLM in Environmental Law, an LLM in Intellectual Property Laws and an LLM in International Law.
NLU Assam LLM admission is based on the applicant's performance in CLAT, the entrance exam conducted by the Consortium of NLUs. After appearing for the entrance exam, candidates must register for the CLAT counselling for seat allocation. Interested candidates must ensure that meet the following NLU Assam LLM eligibility criteria:
- Candidates must have passed a three-year or five-year integrated LLB degree examination from a UGC-recognised university, with a minimum aggregate of 55% (50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD category)
- Candidates must have appeared for the CLAT
NLU Assam LLM Fees 2025
The fee structure of NLU Assam courses is cumulative of multiple components, such as tuition fees, admission fees, refundable deposits, etc. The total NLUJAA LLM fee is INR 2.12 lakh. The NLU Assam LLM tuition fee is INR 55,000. Additionally, selected students must pay an admission fee of INR 10,000 and a refundable deposit of INR 30,000 at admission. NLU Assam LLM admission 2024 is done through CLAT. For admission through CLAT candidates have to submit the application fee, other than the course fee. For General /OBC /PWD /PIO /OCI /NRI category candidates, the application fee is INR 4,000 and for SC /ST /BPL category candidates, the application fee is INR 3,500. The placement information for the 2023 graduating class is still pending in the official site. On its official website, the institute has, nevertheless, made available the NIRF report for 2023. Step 1: For NLU Assam admissions to BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programme registrations are done through CLAT. Candidates must visit the official website of CNLU to apply for CLAT.
Step 2: The registered candidates are required to appear for CLAT entrance exam for admission to BA LLB and LLM programmes. After that, candidates willing to get admission in BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes, have to go through the CLAT counselling process for acceptance of seats. To confirm the allotment, candidates have to accept the seat allotment, after that the allotment will get frozen.
Step 3: Candidates who will accept the allotted seat need to upload all the required documents on the official portal. After that candidates, will be required to pay the admission fee to confirm their seats within a stipulated deadline.

NLUJAA LLM admission is based on the CLAT counselling process. Selected candidates must pay the confirmation fee to Consortium for freeze and float options for admission to NLUs against each Allotment List within the prescribed time. Moreover, the authorities have released the NLUJAA LLM CLAT 2024 cutoff for the General All-India category. The closing rank in 2024 stood at 2195. No, you cannot get into a National Law University (NLU) with a ULSAT score. NLU admissions for the 25 participating NLUs is done through the CLAT (Common Law Admission Test). For NLU Delhi the AILET is conducted. ULSAT is for UPES, not NLUs, so you need CLAT or AILET scores.
