Oriental University provides an option of lateral entry admission to its BTech programmes. The duration of this course is three years as the candidates are admitted directly to the second year (third semester) of the BTech programme. To be eligible for lateral entry admission for the BTech programme offered at the university, applicants must have passed a three-year Diploma or a BSc degree from a university recognised by the UGC. The applicants must have passed Class 12 with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.

For admission to BTech at Oriental University, apart from JEE rank, it is also crucial that applicant meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. Thus, a student need to have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% aggregate to be eligible for admission.
