Periyar Maniammai University BTech Eligibility & Highlights 2025
Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology (PMIST) is a deemed-to-be university, formerly known as Periyar Maniammai University (PMU). PMIST offers various BTech programmes with different specialisations. Some BTech programmes at PMIST include BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, BTech in Aerospace Engineering, BTech in Biotechnology, etc. Eligible candidates can also opt for an honours degree in all the available BTech programmes by proper registration procedure and additional coursework requirements. The duration of regular BTech programmes is four years. The university also allows lateral entry to its BTech programmes. The duration of lateral entry programmes is three years.
To be eligible for BTech admission at PMIST, a candidate must have passed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and one out of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational Subject. The candidate must have scored at least 45% in the mentioned three subjects. The admission is based on a merit list prepared by the university based on the candidates' marks in Class 12. However, 50% of the seats are filled through the merit list based on the performance in the accepted entrance exams and Class 12, with 50% weightage given to each.
