STEP 1: RBU Application Process 2025

Candidates seeking BA admission at RBU can apply online through the university's official website. New applicants are required to create a new account for registration. The stepwise RBU BA application process is mentioned below:

Step 1.1: Visit the official website of RBU Kolkata at www.rbu.ac.in.

Step 1.2: Click on 'Student's Portal' on the Home page and select 'Student Login for Admission'.

Step 1.3: Click on 'Create New Account' and enter the details to generate login credentials.

Step 1.4: Log in using the credentials to fill out the application form and upload the required documents.

Step 1.5: Pay the application fee and submit the form.

STEP 2: RBU Selection Process

Once the candidate has applied for the course of their choice, the university shortlists candidates based on the following criteria:

• For BA courses offered by the Faculty of Arts: Merit list is prepared based on the following criteria: 20% weightage to Class 10 score, 30% weightage to Class 12 aggregate in top four subjects excluding Environmental Studies, and 50% weightage to the Class 12 score in the subject in which Major/Hons/Hons with Research is sought.
• For BA courses offered by the Faculty of Fine Arts: The university conducts an admission test with two phases: a Practical Test & Written Theoretical Test. The final merit list is prepared based on the applicants' performance in the Practical Test (50% weightage), the Written Theoretical Test (30% weightage) and the top in subjects in Class 12 (20% weightage).

The university releases the merit list on its official website to announce the names of the shortlisted aspirants.

STEP 3: RBU Admission Confirmation

Shortlisted candidates are provided with provisional admission to their desired course. At the time of provisional admission, only first-semester admission fees must be deposited through an online payment gateway. For final admission, candidates are called for document verification. They must report to the university with all the specified documents on the stipulated date. After the verification, selected candidates can proceed to submit the RBU fees depending on their chosen specialisation.
