Yes, you can join Sikkim University with or without entrance exams. The University offers admission via an entrance exam and merit based on the candidate's performance in the qualifying exam. Merit-based admission is offered for courses such as BA, BSc, BCom, BCA, etc.  However, for the flagship course, BTech admission is based on either JEE Main or SMIT Entrance Exam.  Candidates only have to qualify for the eligibility criteria, and based on their performance in the qualifying exam, a merit list will be prepared.

Sikkim Manipal admission to most of the courses is based on valid scores of national/ university-level entrance exams. But for some of the courses admissions are merit-based. Sikkim Manipal University hasn't released the exact dates for the entrance exam. However, the exam is likely to be conducted in the end of May, 2025. Candidates willing to secure admission in the BSc Nursing course are required to participate in the online entrance exam conducted by SMU's affiliated institute, Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing. The BSc in Nursing is offered by the Nursing College under SMU.

The overall seat intake for BSc at Sikkim Manipal University is around 464 seats. The seats are further spread across the different specialisations offered via its in-house departments and its affiliated institutes/colleges. 

Sikkim Manipal University has already begun its admission for the academic year 2025 for various courses. The application portal for the BSc course was open on November 15, 2024, and the last date to apply for the course (BSc in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Applied Psychology) is June 10, 2025. Further, the BSc in Nursing application submission deadline is July 15, 2025, and July 25, 2025, is the last date for the BSc in Medical Biotechnology. 

Sikkim Manipal University mainly offers BSc courses via its in-house departments and affiliated institutes/colleges. To get admission in the BSc course, candidates must first check the qualifications required for admission. The admission process varies slightly for different specialisations. For, BSc in specialisation such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Applied Psychology, etc., candidates must have Class 12 exam scores with mandatory specialisation-wise subjects. Further, for BSc in Nursing, candidates must have Class 12 with a minimum of 45% and appear for the online Entrance examination conducted by SMCON, SMU. 

Yes, there is scholarships schemes for BSc students at Sikkim Manipal University. To secure the scholarships candidates must have secure a certain percentage in the Class 12 exams. Scholarship Schemes are applicable for the entire duration of their study, subject to the fulfillment of the criteria of CGPA 7.5 with no backlog and no disciplinary case.
