Candidates willing to secure admission in the BSc Nursing course are required to participate in the online entrance exam conducted by SMU's affiliated institute, Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing. The BSc in Nursing is offered by the Nursing College under SMU.

Sikkim Manipal University conducts counselling rounds to shortlist students for the BBA course. According to the official website, the BBA admission counselling rounds will be conducted from June 12 to June 19, 2025. SMU BA admission is subject to valid scores in the last qualifying exam. The BA admission is ongoing for the academic year 2024. Sikkim Manipal University conducts separate entrance tests, and Personal Interview (PI) rounds to evaluate the candidates. Candidates willing to apply for the BTech, MTech, and MCA must first apply for the University entrance test known as SMIT (Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology). However, candidates with a valid JEE Main and GATE score can apply at the University's official website. For those who have qualified SMIT, JEE Main or MET, counselling will be conducted separately for seat allotment. The candidates will also have to select their preferred course. SMIT 2025 seat allotment will be done by the authorities based on the candidate's rank and other factors. 

The course fees for the three years BSc course ranges from INR 1.7 Lacs to INR 5.6 Lacs in Sikkim Manipal University. The course fee might vary across the different specialisations offered under BSc course. Candidates seeking admission to the BSc course also have to pay the application fee of INR 1,000. Also while paying the tuition fee during admission, candidates might have to pay one-time fees.
